Use the left and right arrow keys to move the hand, select your card with X
Issues: Seeking feedback
- I think the sfx are off? Like late? Idk if its just me
- I tried to get some particles to move like a firework kind of? But I couldn't get the particles to stop once it had started
- also tried to make a card flipping animation for both the computer and player but animations are kicking my ass, any advice?
- Also think some wait time is needed in different places, been figuring out how to create and implement timers since moving on from this project but any advice is welcome
I'd love any feedback or advice at all, I'm a self taught coder and very much a beginner. I have a lot to learn and I'm determined to do so! Thanks if you read this or played my game? Not sure how this works exactly yet haha. Peace<3
Other Junk
Hi? :) I'm grey
I've been messing around with the education version of Pico 8 for a few months now and finally bought it! I love this lil fantasy console, making my own games, and playing the games of this cool ass community.
I'm finally ready to show some of the projects I've been working on (also cause I'm a lil stuck on my current one so why not distract ourselves right :)
First up is the first game I managed to cobble together lmao rock paper scissors where the computers card is revealed but your selection is random. (Trust in the heart of the cards or sum like dat lol)

This is the first published mod I have made using my own fork of Evercore called EverSword.
If you're interested in more information about it you can find the Github repository here.
Help Madeline scrape through the boiling hot desert and reach the top of the hills!
Instructions

I recently joined a two day weekend game jam with some coworkers, and created my first Picotron game as a result! It definitely has some flaws, but I'm very pleased with the end result and some of the effects I was able to include.
Introducing Gravityscape. You are sent to an alternate dimension to collect material to help with those back home. But can you avoid the hazards within?
Controls:
- D-pad to move
- Hold X to move at increased speed, but watch your gauge!
- Press Z to drop a bomb once one is charged up
Try to get the best score by collecting the green objects and destroying red and blue! The faster you go, the more points you achieve. Enjoy!
Scarf (remastered):
I made Scarf originally back in 2020 as my first real game using pico-8. This is the remastered version.
Update:
I've added a timer, a main menu and a local leaderboard.
If anyone want's to film their run I'll put the best record on the cartridge.
I've added more options on where to display the timer and a soundtrack which can be disabled if you prefer to play without it. also there's now a jump buffer and a wall buffer in addition to the coyote time, so the movement should feel a lot smoother.
Original Scarf:

An experimental text editor for Picotron in replacement of the built in text editor.
Minie font by @Thelxinoe5
Supports selections
Supports ctrl+(c+v+x+a+b)
Supports ctrl+shift+tab
Supports scrolling
Supports some customisation!
Supports lua highlighting
Supports scrollbar
Supports mouse-based editing
Supports max_lines
Supports key_callback
Supports undo&redo
Issue: Selected text being replaced doesn't send the caret to the right location
Essentially complete!
Next goal is to add a more memory intensive version to reduce cpu & fix that text caret bug

Hi folks,
I recently slapped together a quick tool for exporting fonts out of Picotron into the BMFont XML format. I figured I'd share it in case anyone else has this incredibly specific and niche need. It's just a quick-and-dirty tool - it requires running un-sandboxed, always dumps the currently loaded main font, and always dumps it to /desktop - but it might be a good starting point if you need it.

An endless scroller where you have to prevent the alienships getting past you, by shooting them all to their defeat.
If an alien have passed, or if your ship has no more lives left, then the game is over.
Controls:
Use the arrow Keys to move
Hold Z and to switch to a different ship
Press X to use a Bomb (Bombs will also trigger automatically)
Press Enter to pauze the game
A second player can join on keyboard by using ESDF to move, and W to join and change ship.
More players can join by using controllers, and pressing 'O'.
Up to 4 players can technically join, but I've not tested that feature out.
This project was my first Pico-8 project to experience the program, left as an unfinished WIP.
Now I think it has it's place on the BBS as an endless scroller.
Hope you'll enjoy!

Hello!
We are a team of two called Ursamancer Studio.
We made a small puzzle platformer as our very first game. While working on a larger project, we decided to take a break and create a tiny game from start to finish.
PICO-8 was perfect for that.
Embark on a journey with Kaitlyn and Ryan, siblings trying to find their way back home.
We had a lot of fun making it, and we hope someone enjoys playing it.
