Spacetank 9000
It is the year 9000
Blow up aliens
Get crate boxes
You are powerful and good
Scorched Earth meets Super Crate Box
There are chain reaction explosions because everything in the game explodes
I plan on adding more weapons and enemies. Enjoy!
UPDATES:
-different control scheme
-more gradual difficulty curve
-made some weapons a bit easier to hit with :)
-fixed some wonky hitboxes
KNOWN BUGS:
-Just straight up totally hard crashes pico 8 for some reason sometimes? I have no idea why, maybe has something to do with sfx?
-Will probably run out of memory if you get too far?

The controls are a bit tricky for me--it would be okay if the action weren't quite so frantic, but with the death ray on my tail, remembering to hold down the button 2 to move instead of aim is more than my finger brains can handle.

Prety nice game, I like the graphic style, everything explode and shake. You have way too many life, I got very far without understanding anything at first. I wish you had a control on the location of the tank, maybe just a jump button. It would be useful to avoid weapond you dont want, as some of them are pretty hard to use. Keep up the good work.

i love this :D
sick gfx and great feel with the projectile physics

This is so good!! I LOVE the visual style! The gameplay is fun but I agree with the others that the difficulty should be tweaked. tbh just put a lot more enemies in there and it should do. I do think the controls work well enough however!

Very interesting game, we did a whole article about it in our #p8jam2 coverage, be sure to check it out here:

Really fun game! I included it in my Pico-8 Jam #2 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

Nice indeed ! Would like to see this on a Vectrex.

This is one of the flipping best games I've seen in a while, and I think that the slight uncontrollability is a good thing, making it so that you kind of have to go with the flow, adapting to whatever weapon mutation you have. The plot builds up what would look like a thought-out plan, while it's really just sending in one weapon unit and seeing what happens at the end, which makes a thin sheen of levity, adding on to the already fun gameplay.
