Finally, my first real PICO-8 game is here!

Amazing, love the trigcircle thingies, collecting berries feels great, lovely sprites.
Very good going in my favorites
This is great! Your pixels are really lovely, great palette usage. The mechanic feels well thought out and applied.
I encountered a funky softlock with a red orb screen, gonna start a new file and try to recreate. Looking forward to the rest afterward :D
Edit: Hit another softlock on second run. It looks like there're a few frames after screen transition where you can die before your respawn point gets updated? In this case I peeked into a room above me super briefly, fell back in, died quickly (I may have panic teleported for no good reason and died faster than would happen in a normal playthrough), and my relative X/Y to the screen was still from the above room so I respawned indefinitely in some spikes at the equivalent spot of the room I'm actually in.
@merwok The block to the right of the orb is a spring, it'll give you upward momentum to work with :)
@Peteksi It may be due a slightly different coloring, to help distinguish is from background tiles a bit more?
this is fantastic! challenging but doable, and the only time I got really stuck it was an optional berry so I moved on eventually.
I got 6 berries on my first playthrough; I played it again and got 9 (the 3 I missed were the single room below the start of the second area, the bonus room, and the one I skipped where you have to teleport back like 3 times in rapid succession)
Smooth platforming, cute animation and ingenious puzzle design.
Here's what I finished with. I really should have ignored the berries on my first playthrough.
I'm glad it didn't tell me how many times I died. Definitely not attempting the run where you have to get through all levels without a mistake.
Also found this.
What an incredible game! I loved pretty much everything about it, from the excellent controls, to the tight level design, to the impressive visuals. Honestly, this game feels too good to be available for free.
I got all 9 berries in 15:35 minutes.
@rarelikeaunicorn Thanks for letting me know! Not sure about the first one, but the second softlock should be fixed in version 1.1.
Hi, really liked the game! The puzzles are pretty fun and I like the different mechanics with the teleport orb, like it falling after a teleport, making the player think about how to reach the destination before the orb falls and breaks.
I've found two issues, though. First is that the chains in the background sometimes can be difficult to differentiate from the solid objects due to similarity in colour. The second is that on this one screen I've found a softlock:
If you jump and teleport from point A, you're able to reach the top edge and move to another screen. If you fall back down and die after this, your spawn point will be set to the circled area, where the bird is on the screenshot - right in the spikes in an eternal death loop. You can only teleport out when the bird's already touched the spikes, so there's no escape.
Other than that, though, this is a really fun game. Great job!
Found a softlock. Even when I get out of the game and click continue, it still softlocks me here. Even when I try to teleport to the green thing, softlock. This is how I got it.
Went to the top area after this area and I fell
- When I fell and died in the current area, it teleported me to where I fell. ( Hopefully it made sense )
What a game! I tried this a while back but I found it far too difficult. However I recently came back to it and once I got to grips with it I've really enjoyed playing it.
A great concept - lovely sound and graphics. The gameplay is top notch - each new screen seems utterly impossible until something just clicks and you make progress.
So pretty and I love the vibe of it. Really innovative too.
Plumpf pretty sure that's cause it's hardmode and not a bug :p
