Lil' Satan's Cake Quest is an old-school 2D platformer game.
Objective: Storm the enemy's castle to eat lots of cake!
- Transform your enemies into cake with your electric beams (z button)
- Eat cake to gain back lost health
- Maximize you health and beam power by eating golden cakes dropped by demons
- Hold z in mid air to hover while shooting electric beams
In case it's not obvious, this was also inspired greatly by the Ghosts and Goblins and Castlevania franchises.
- Added boss music and boss killed music
- Penalizes death by saving time spent while resetting everything else (upgrades and cakes)
- A tiny little cameo :)

I'll probably penalize deaths by saving the elapsed time upon death in the next update (as a better representation of how long it took you to finish the game).
Lovely work. It feels really good. Your enemy types and attacks that work on them is pretty well mixed up. I enjoyed that aspect of the game, plus all the gushy G&G stuff. Tops all over! This will probably wind up a lunch time past time once in awhile.
The first 4 represent collision in 4 directions: floor, right wall, ceiling and left wall, respectively.
The 7th one is to tag enemy sprites one the map.
A strat for beating the bosses in general is to keep moving and use the hovering mechanic (hold down the fire button in the air) for shooting at his face.

yes, and yeah, I also forgot about the map() call. So, in your "FRCLD--E", D would basically be turned on for things to draw in the map call.
Enemies should have that off so they don't get drawn in the map() call but are still positioned in places to be read by the code.
This game is SUPER hard for me for some reason, so I can't comment much, but I enjoy the aesthetic, the theme, everything so far. When/if I'm able to get through it (it's Ghost and Goblins level hard for me for some reason!) I'll come back with a critique and full thoughts, but so far, it's really cool, just hard for me for some reason. But I also suck at ghost and goblins and people I know can breeze right through it, so I probably just need to buck up and practice like a good gamer!
Pretty good. Definitely a game for those with quick reflexes. Might be nice to have a "shooting" power up when you get to the plants that shoot up straight in the air.
Interesting in that when you are shooting you float and do not fall at all until you let go of the firing trigger. I didn't give you one yet so will now, a gold star for a game well done !
Dude, I love your games. Been spending tons of time with this game, tomatoworm, infinite run gun bot, slime bubble bro...you just can't seem to make a bad game!
I was playing this game with a friend last night, and my friend got to the second boss and then led him very far to the left---then the boss appeared to fall through the floor---never to be seen again. I believe this is game breaking because the boss never reappeared and my friend could not advance.
I share a similar opinion about the games you make, but I have also happened upon the same glitch as Gradual, which is a slightly questionable occurrence, unless the big jumping skeleton is also due his time, much like the other ghosts.
The game itself, though, is absolutely a blast, with dw having expressed my opinion about it, though another thing I noticed was that as you got more super cakes, golden cakes or what you will, the shots got quicker & stronger.
