4+ GIGA BOSS FIGHTS

The original 4 GIGA BOSS FIGHTS is one of my favorite games I've made for Pico-8. Every now and then I come back to it and play it for a bit. Last time I did that, I noticed a few minor bugs that bothered me, so I decided to fix them. Long story short, what started as a quick bug fix, ended up adding more and more features, so I decided to make it a "plus" release.

So here it is, after more than 6 years of the original release, the new and improved 4+ GIGA BOSS FIGHTS. Here's some of the new features:

Each ship now has different shooting styles and different power levels. Look at the DPS (Damage Per Second) on the bottom left corner of the ship select menu.
Holding the <z> button allows your ship to slow down significantly and keep your shooting direction steady. Critical for meticulous dodging of the impending bullet-hell.
Holding the <x> button uses your power meter, which, along with increasing shooting power, also slows down enemy bullets. This is a limited resource, so use it strategically.

I think this update makes the game a bit more engaging and strategic. Please give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments.

Pressing ESC in Pico-8 Education Edition on a Tablet

I've been considering using Pico-8 Education Edition to teach kids the cozy world of game-dev in pico8. But one friction I've had is that using a tablet (most kids nowadays have access to one), it's impossible to hit the escape key (I've tried it with a couple of bluetooth keyboards).

Again, it's meant for kids, so I'm not really looking for a roundabout complex solution.

It would be great if this educational tool had an alternative way to hit [esc]. I'm open to any possible alternatives really, but I do think it would open the door to a lot of kids to play with the tool and have fun with it.

Any thoughts on this?
