Edit: Added new visuals, including bigger tiles and other changes designed to illustrate which tiles are about to collapse. Hopefully this will make figuring the game's mechanics out a little easier.
Thanks for trying my demo! In this turn-based puzzle game, hop from tile to tile and find your way to the treasure. Every time you jump, the tile you were last on sprouts spikes. All adjacent (up, down, left and right) same-color tiles sprout spikes, and a chain reaction occurs where every same-color tile adjacent to THOSE tiles also sprouts spikes. The challenge is to avoid trapping yourself between spiked tiles.

Twin Strike is a vertical shmup in which you, as the pilot of either a helicopter or a jet, must destroy alien ships and defend Earth! There is no end, it just gets harder with each loop. There are three distinct backgrounds and two possible pieces of background music, so the scenery and music shuffle with each round.
Scoring and missiles
Every time you kill an enemy, you fill your missile meter by one. Every three points nets you a powerful missile you can launch with the z key. If you fill all twelve points, you get a score 2x multiplier that lasts until you launch a missile. If you launch when you have all 12 points, you get a smart bomb explosion that eliminates all bullets and hurts everything on the screen, but you also spend nine points instead of three.
Toss your yoyo and build rainbows to jump on! 13 different cute enemies stand between you and your triumph over the eight towers!
BTW I didn't include some of the nuances of yoyo control in the instructions in-game, but once it's coming back to you you can hold the x button again to cause it to move on the y, rather than x, axis. You can build stairs this way, or a shield from projectiles.
You get different items at the exit door depending on how thorough you were, so be sure to revisit the levels and try to beat your previous score!
A labor of love that has just sort of poured out of me over the last few weeks, I'm excited for you to try it. And if you experience any runtime errors or memory running out, please let me know. To the best of my knowledge I fixed those issues, but you never know.
I never did finish this, but it's perfectly playable for the most part in its current form. Suck in enemies with x, release them to fire them at the bosses. Hitting a boss on the top of the head causes it to release treasure, subsequent hits upgrade the kind of treasure you get.
I think it basically just continues with no new bosses after the last one (third).
Slide around on your belly, collect diamonds, and get to the exit! I've tested it a ton myself, but I haven't really had anyone else play, so let me know if you run into glitches.
It's finally done! There may be a few bug fixes but this is pretty much it! A passion project combining my love for shmups with my passion for ducks. Quack!
Alright so, the earlier "draft" of this game was pretty bland. I decided to go ahead and just do the game I had originally intended, before I chickened out. Now, you play as the necro-janitor, and it is your job to incinerate the excess undead created by the Necromancers' Guild.
It isn't done (I want to integrate two more enemy types, some items, and use vector shapes for the flames) but it's in a good place to show others now.
