System
The game revolves around 2 things: Don't get hit and kill fast. The ship fires by itself but you will need to turn and aim.
系统:
游戏就围绕两件事:别被打中,杀得快。飞船会自己开火,但转向和瞄准得靠你。
Don't get hit!

My first game made with Pico-8! Let me know what you think!
Hint: Inspect your surroundings as you follow the paths.
Controls:
- Arrow Keys to move
- (X) to pick up and drop items (shown in game)
- (O) / Z / C to interact or use (shown in game)

This is a simple game I made as a learning exercise after reading the book "Battle Royale" by Koushun Takami
Survive until the final boss! Deflect bullets and slash enemies with your katana to survive to the end!
a few fixes are needed as some enemies get stuck but I like to think they're just hiding!
No AI generated code

Hello everyone!
While this isn't my first pico8 cartridge ever, this IS my first uploaded pico8 cartridge!
Description
The goal of the game is simple: smash the pumpkin and retrieve all 10 candies in the least amount of hits possible, using your trusty pumpkin hammer.
Have fun! And happy Halloween!
Revisions
Version 3:
- Add game title and author at the top of the code
- Remove exclamation mark in titlescreen title
Version 2:
- Fix hammer sprite offset
Version 1:
- Fix hammer hit detection on mobile
- Allow every candy type to show up when pumpkin gets hit

A simple particle editor for all your projects!
Play with it until you find a particle you like. Use up/down to pick an entry, then type a number or use up/down to change it. A live preview runs on the right.
When you’re happy, copy the whole 1st tab of code, outside any function. Call updparts() in _update and drawparts() in _draw. To spawn a particle, call addp(x,y,"..."), where the string is copied to your clipboard when you press Z in the editor. Just paste it in. A full particle in under 2 minutes!
THE NAMES
A guide to what each variable does.
shap - the shape: 1 is a filled circle, 2 a circle outline, 3 a filled square, 4 a square outline.

The Monster Match
This is The Monster Match. A chill game with no timer, no gravity on pieces while you choose where they go, and no RNG on which piece to drop. Just trying to beat the level in the least amount of pieces dropped. Levels are randomized daily.
This game was solo developed by me and no Generative AI was used. Credit to Bobby "Boris" Pickett for the original Monster Mash that the music and game title is based off of.
All controls are listed in game except arrow keys to move pieces before you drop them.
Have fun and I hope you enjoy doing the monster match.
Well, here is my first finished PICO-8 game. It's a puzzle game, do you like those? If you do, then this is a special love letter to puzzle games. It is mainly inspired by Puyo Puyo, but carries a line-connecting mechanic from Sandtrix.
Controls
⬆️/⬇️: Menu navigation
⬅️/➡️: Move block pair left/right
⬇️: Drop faster
🅾️: Swap blocks, confirm selections, cycle through option settings
❎: Give up (after losing), (along with 🅾️) erase a high score
Objective
Imagine each color of block as a color of stone that can carry energy, similar to a wire. You must connect blocks from the left side of the screen to the right side of the screen, not just in a simple straight line, but in any formation you can imagine. Horizontally, vertically or diagonally, the blocks will interact, and if current flows from the left to the right, those blocks go bust!

Start small. Think bigger. Buy one more GPU.
An incremental game about an AI startup, inspired by Universal Paperclips. Start with $0, do freelance jobs, and save $300 for a used GPU. At first, you are faster than your AI. That will change.
Buy hardware, train better AI models, set prices, and keep your GPUs cool. Grow your business from a bedroom to a worldwide network. Pip, your AI assistant, always has another suggestion.
A game takes about 40–45 minutes if you play actively. Your progress saves automatically, so you can take a break and come back later.
Buy your first GPU and put it to work.

hi!!! this is a demake of Bloons Tower Defense!!
i actually made this game a few years ago but i didn't have a pico-8 license back then and only used the education edition, but now that i finally got the real thing i decided to actually publish this game!! this is my first ever game so it might be a bit rough around the edges but either way i'm really proud of the result!
the code is really unreadable because of all the dumb techniques used to cram as much gameplay in to 8000 tokens, but the game has:
- 9 different monkeys from BTD5
- Two upgrade paths, each with three upgrades
- Automatically game saves after each round
- The first 60 waves from BTD5

Hi everyone!! After more than a year of development, I’m incredibly excited to share Ninja Cactus: Escape the Cacti Caverns, a multicart Metroidvania/precision platformer I made with my son, DinoBoy!
Controls:
⬅️ ➡️ = Move
⬆️ ⬇️ = Look Up/Down
🅾️ = Jump
❎ = Shoot Needles
(Additional controls are introduced as you discover new abilities!)
Some highlights:
• 6 upgradeable abilities to discover and master.
• 6+ explorable regions, each with unique environments, obstacles, and collectibles.
• Nonlinear progression, with some abilities obtainable out of sequence (or skipped altogether if you’re skilled enough!).
Hello everyone,
I have a habit of doing:
function open_shop() local selection=0 ::_:: if(btnp(➡️))selection+=1 if(btnp(⬅️))selection-=1 if(btnp(❎))goto exit flip() goto ::exit:: sell_item(selection) end |
its super useful to just stop the game and be able to have a mini loop from anywhere, its just so annoying that the snippet above doesn't actually work, I just wish it would. Here is the way it would work:
function open_shop() local selection=0 local last_⬅️=false local last_➡️=false local last_❎=false ::_:: last_⬅️=btn(⬅️) last_➡️=btn(➡️) last_❎=btn(❎) flip() if(last_⬅️!=btn(⬅️) and btn(⬅️))selection-=1 if(last_➡️!=btn(➡️) and btn(➡️))selection+=1 if(last_❎!=btn(❎) and btn(❎))goto exit goto _ ::exit:: sell_item(selection) end |
See? Btnp() sadly only works in _update() and _draw(), so a weird workaround must be done, over time I made it cleaner but still annoyingly in the way.
[hidden]
function open_shop() local selection=0 local last_button=0 ::_:: last_button=btn() flip() if last_button!=btn() then if(btn(⬅️))selection-=1 if(btn(➡️))selection+=1 if(btn(❎))goto exit end goto _ ::exit:: sell_item(selection) end |

#DIE FOREVER

THE GAME
|
[64x64] |
Death wants blood, and he's kind of a jerk about it. You play as The Silent Samurai, whose goal is to spill as much blood and collect as many coins as possible until you perish, where you will wheel and deal with Death in his casino and shop to upgrade The Silent Samurai's abilities. Can you escape the endless bloodletting cycle, or will you DIE FOREVER?

Back in middle/high school, my friends and I LOVED the iconic Slime Soccer and Super Slime Soccer flash games by Quin Pendragon and Jens Dahl Mollerhøj, respectively. I have fond memories of hosting tournaments during study hall.
I wanted to give the basic game design a pico 8 twist -- aka adding in a Celeste dash to the core gameplay. I've had a lot of fun with it, and hope that you do too!
CONTROLS:
⬅️ ➡️ run.
🅾️ or ⬆️ jump. You can short hop and long jump.
❎ dash. You can dash in 8 directions.
- You get 2 dash charges. They refill when you land.
- In the air, your first touch of the ball gives you one charge back.
- press ⬇️ + ❎ to slam on the ground to pop up the ball.
