Did some work with the graphics, changed some sound effects, added an undo function and a check for remaining valid moves. There is technically a menu, but it doesn't work. I intend to add settings, but currently it's just un-interact-able text. There is a toggle for the English or European modes, but it's very temporary. I also know that the European mode is unbeatable in current form, this will be rectified.
A columns clone, inspired by Quarx & Xixit featuring numerous blocksets, chain-reaction combos, animated backgrounds and online leaderboards.
There is currently no music! I'd love to include some, but I currently lack the capability. In the meantime. I recommend listening to some classic Columns-type game soundtracks while playing.
new in v0.9.1
- arrow prompts changed to be part of border instead, this is to avoid them overlapping and getting in the way, plus it looks better anyways
- long names now scroll with a marquee effect on both the titlescreen and the leaderboard
- position #10 label shifts 5px left to avoid being obscured by a user's icon

I've been working away trying to port UFO 50's Seaside Drive to Picotron. This is a WIP release of the first level. For fun, I thought I would include the EGG bonus mechanic from Star Waspir to liven things up a bit. Currently only EGG is supported (increase bonus multiplier by 1).
Things to address:
- The charging mechanic works (drag left) but it currently has no effect on damage caused by bullets. Makes things a bit easier for now, will address shortly.
- Enemy AI isn't quite right yet, things spawn in the wrong place, behaviours aren't a 1for1 copy - I need to go through a cherry run frame by frame to get it spot on.
- Tiny little bugs here and there.
I have no intention of replicating the whole game because that would be piracy. I've reached a point now where I can spin it off into something different. I'm interested by the idea that people called Seaside Drive "sidewell" as it could be seen to be a rotion of Downwell. I think I'm going to lean into that idea more.

A customizable Picotron wallpaper inspired by Pokémon.
I meant to release this on Pokémon Day (February 27)… but here we are, two months later. So instead of pretending I’m on time, let’s call this what it is: A very late Pokémon Day wallpaper drop.

Hello
In the first code block you can see my main.lua is compressed. In the second, it is not. What triggers this?

Leap of Faith is a small story focused platformer game I made for a 48 hour long game jam.
Play as a small frog on his mental journey to propose to his boyfriend.
Also available in the constructed language toki pona, for any nerds out there!
I hope you enjoy!

EM HARCOURT, the self-styled LADY OF CONTRAPTIONS is in a bit of a pickle. After stealing a KISS from a chaste ACOLYTE, she's been thrown into THE OUBLIETTE, which is FRENCH for "I forgot we even had that dungeon, what a dump."
Fortunately, the various deadly traps in the OUBLIETTE have been smashed to BITS by other prisoners long before her time. Unfortunately, these days the OUBLIETTE is rife with CHEST MIMICS. But hey, it's not like anyone would mind if she pocketed some of those perfectly-serviceable COGS on her way out.

Hey there!
I've been trying to update this game on my free time, and thanks to Claude, I was able to be more productive with the little time I have.
I'm planning for a big update, where there will be more monsters and waves of monsters.
Thanks for playing it!
2026-04-26:
Hello!
This is my first game I've been developing for this platform.
My idea is to create a mini game based on the game loop from Chrono Trigger's ATB.
Feel free to share your thoughts and help me finish this game.
You've heard of 3D fighting games.
You've heard of 2D fighting games.
Now get ready for... a 1D fighting game!
Very simple and silly 1-dimensional fighting game where the goal is to knock your opponent off the stage. Has singleplayer and multiplayer modes and 5 stages.
Controls:
- Left/right arrow to move.
- O (Z) to attack. Weak attack is default; hold up arrow while attacking for a medium attack and down arrow for a strong attack.
- X to guard.
- O (Z) while guarding to dash.
I may add more features later on down the line. Enjoy!
Golath Defense
Defend your walls against waves of monsters using dice, units, and spells.
Roll your dice each turn and spend them on actions.
HOW TO WIN / LOSE
Win: Kill the Chief.
Lose: Let any single wall reach 0 HP.
YOUR WALLS
There are 6 lanes. Each lane has a wall with 6 HP.
Monsters march toward your wall. If one starts its turn in front of a wall it will attack it with d6+attack >= wall hp
If a wall hits 0 HP, the game ends and you lose.
EACH TURN
- Roll your 4 dice.
- Spend dice on actions (in any order, as many times as you want).
- Three monsters are drawn and placed into lanes.
Hi everyone,
I’m happy to share my new PICO‑8 game – Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) with a special twist: Jieqi (Reveal Chess) mode!
🎲 What’s inside?
Classic Chinese Chess rules (Xiangqi)
Jieqi mode – all pieces start facedown, reveal them when you move, and see who’s the first to uncover a devastating cannon or chariot!
Local two‑player battle (hotseat)
Single‑player vs AI opponent – the AI is basic but fun for casual players
🎮 How to play
Move the cursor with arrow keys / D‑pad
Press 🅾️ (O) to select a piece / confirm move
Press ❎ (X) to cancel selection
In Jieqi mode, moving a face‑down piece reveals it automatically (legal moves are shown after reveal)
After a few late nights and some pleading with the LaTeX gods, I've put together a single-page (double-sided) quick reference sheet for Picotron.
This obviously isn't going to replace the manual, but it should be enough to help you recall the syntax, or jog your memory if you forget the name of a function. It doesn't include everything; lots of stuff related to userdata, the GUI and event system, etc. is missing. I tried to focus on the things you'd need for "normal" Picotron development.
This is available in both portrait and landscape orientations, A4 and US letter paper sizes, and color and black-and-white. All of these have the same content, although the order of some of the sections is a bit different for the different paper sizes, and the black-and-white variants don't include the palette, for obvious reasons. The portrait variants have a larger margin on the "inner" page edge, so you should be able to hole-punch it for use in a binder or whatever. The margins on these are quite narrow, so not every printer may be able to print them as is (Fit to Page will of course work, at the expense of making the already small text even smaller).
