Hi everyone!
I made a small arcade reflex game inspired by the bamboo cutting mini-game from Ghost of Tsushima.
The goal is simple: repeat the button combo before time runs out and cut the bamboo.
Each round becomes harder with longer combos and tighter timing.
Miss the sequence and the cut fails!
Controls
Z – X input
X – O input
Arrow keys – directional inputs
Follow the combo shown on screen and enter it as fast as possible.
Gameplay
- Random combo sequences
- Increasing difficulty every round
- Time pressure
- Score system with high score tracking
- Simple ninja slash animation
- Bamboo cutting effects
Try to reach the highest score you can.
Reach the top of the tower !
Hold the button to aim, release to launch. Aim at the ground for better results.
Control Type B isn't implemented yet.
Music and ending coming soon.

Been working on this for a while, so i thought it'd be a good idea to post a prototype to try and get some feedback before i try to make this into a complete game (especially because i'm getting dangerously close to every single limit). Any feedback is greatly appreciated :)
Dropkicks Inc.
is (supposed to be) a messy, movement focused platformer-fighter about utilising your environment. In a world where large machines are more common than people, you and your team soon find job opportunities in personally stopping malfunctioning ones before they cause more trouble ... usually for shady companies who for some reason don't want to deal with the authorities.
Features janky physics, UFOs and explosive homing missles.

You all know the game.
This is my first 'finished' cart. I have a bunch of other carts that I've made while learning different things inside of Pico-8. This is a cart where I can put some of that newfound knowledge into something playable, and make my first checkmark on the 20 Games Challenge. It is by no means perfect, but I'm happy with how it turned out as I progress through my learning.
Controls
⬆️ & ⬇️ to move the left player paddle
Objective
Be the first to five points. A pop-up will appear and the cart will reset to the beginning

Thanks for checking it out! More to come!

A bluffing game for one player. Two dice, one cup, and a face that's watching you.
The Game
MIA is the classic German pub game "Mäxchen" (Liar's Dice). Roll two dice under a cup. Peek. Then claim what you rolled – or lie about it. Your opponent does the same. Claims must go up. Call "Liar!" to reveal, or believe and roll next.
The highest roll is 21 – MIA. If someone claims Mia and you believe it, you lose 2 lives. Catch a liar? They lose. Get caught? You lose. Last one standing wins.
Simple rules. Deep bluffing.
Three Opponents
Hot Mia – Easy
"She can't hide her feelings."
Nervous and expressive. She sweats, blinks fast, looks away when she's lying. She can't read your playstyle. A good place to start – learn the tells, find your rhythm.

I made a simple top-down engine, though there isn't much (any :P) content as I am running low on tokens D:
I am not sure if a game can actually be made with this due to the token limit, so I might have to continue on the picotron instead, but I would appreciate any advice on getting more content to fit.
I think a game would fit in the token limit without the editor part, but it would be really annoying to use multiple carts, so I might instead patch the binary with a higher limit during development and strip out the editor at the end so that it works in normal pico-8 — but that's kind of sad as I think it's cool to be able to play with the editor :(
The sword can cut bushes but it has no animation yet, as I have less than 100 tokens now and need to solve that first...
My first game! Its crap! Just learning how to code in pico 8, made it in like a couple hours if that!
