This is my entry for LOWREZJAM 2021, still incomplete and it will be mostly a POC of a complete game.
The game is a tribute to the Natsume's SNES classic "Wild Guns" and is inspired by the gameplay in that game.
In "Golden Star Sheriff" as the new sheriff in Dodge City your duty is to chase and get rid of a big band of thieves that have taken over the city and it's sorrounding areas.
Current state of the game (JAM Version) is going to be a tweaked version of the full game as there's been not enough time to have multiple levels in place, so it will take place only in the first level, Dodge City streets, chasing for "Perro Loco", the lowest ranking bandit chief in the band. The game is tweaked so you can play several times the phase with increased odds rather than actually advancing phases...
My submission to Bored Pixels Jam 8. It ranked #3 overall.
The theme was "you are not the hero," thus, in this game you play the damsel in distress. Lead the equally brave and simple-minded hero through the dungeon and try not to die while he does heroic things like slay monsters, collect loot, and spout glib one-liners.
Hi folks. This is my first game created within PICO-8. I love it, growing up in the UK with a ZX Spectrum this makes me feel really nostalgic. The inspiration for this cart is an old game from 1983 but it's not that similar as that one was more action based.
Seeing as I have some disability I wanted to create a game you can play with one hand and turn based (so no quick reactions required). Hopefully it's got some merit but (and maybe it's just me) I do think it's quite challenging.
A little tip; there are some very subtle visual clues so when it seems you are stuck look hard.
Anyway, good luck and thanks for reading.
