Story
It's the year 25xx.
The old net is a wild and unknown area of cyberspace. You were able to barter for a generic network navigator to install on your personal terminal. It is nothing special, but it should be strong enough to surf the net and get some cash. The problem is that the good stuff is always far away from the entry points with viruses all along the route. You will have to use your limited reserve of battle chips wisely to reach the end.

how to reproduce:

-- sorting a 1 line matrix

a:set(0,0, -5,8)

sorting a single line matrix should be a no-op, instead sort is sorting the row!!!
HELL RIDER RELOADED
Just like the original Hell Rider… only meaner.
The robots are smarter, faster, and far less interested in your long-term survival. Every room is a deadly maze of flying shots, bad decisions, and rapidly shrinking safe spaces. If you enjoyed Hell Rider, welcome back. If you mastered it, prepare to be humbled.
STRATEGY
Use the rules of the mode to your advantage—but don’t get too comfortable. In Hell Rider Reloaded, every robot can keep its own shot in play. There is no shared limit anymore. As the levels advance, the screen can quickly fill with deadly fire from multiple directions at once.
You can download it here, or browse to podnet://26467/index.podweb with the Podweb Browser and get it from there. Then, move the .pod into /appdata/system/themes, and choose the new theme from the System Settings app.
Sorry, my theme does not also make birds.p64 birds turn blue. You'll need my modified birds.p64 (also available from my Podweb site). It effects a palette change (does not modify the spritesheet), and also sets a maximum number of birds (15). It is based on zep's birds.p64 that shipped in /system/demos/birds.p64 with Picotron v0.3.0d2.
Just started exploring Picotron yesterday. Summing up the experience:
- Hm, it seems neat but I feel like I can't nail down what it is beyond just less-limited/less-cute PICO-8 in a sort of Win 3.1 environment
- Oh, okay. Guess that's p much exactly what it is
- I don't love these themes, need to make something more navy blue-centric
- Oh wow, the wallpaper can react to mouse movement, procedurally generate, and/or animate
- Oh, wow, I literally don't have to do anything to make my little toy be a wallpaper too - just drop it in
/appdata/system/wallpapersfolder and choose it in System Settings - These cute birbs roosting on my window tops are adorable, how do I get them at boot?
- Oh wow, I can add new terminal commands just by dropping lua files into
/appdata/system/util - This is fun, why can't my real windowing environment all be customizable lua code? ...Oh yeah, we have networking, and I guess security might become an issue in a broader environment (but the sandboxing is def appreciated)

Heya! It's been talked about a little in the Picotron discord about the PSP or PS Vita being a good handheld for Picotron.
PSP has a res of 480x272, only 2px off of Picotron (so 1px top and bottom of padding), whilst PS Vita has double that.
Would be able to just scale it down to same res as PSP.
Unfortunately, the PS Vita is 32 bit and as of now there is no Linux 32 bit binary (due to performance issues, will hopefully get it in the future whenever that may be), so I feel like running it natively might be an issue - but possible if we get that binary?
The issue about actually getting the PS Vita to run a linux system, I've heard about stuff like that happening but I'm unsure of how successful or powerful it is.
PS Vita is ARM-based so presumably you'd be able to use the raspi release when it's 32 bit.
I'll be trying it out with Moonlight (stream from my PC to the Vita as a remote control thingy) to get a feel for it, if anyone has suggestions on how to tomfoolery Picotron onto it feel free to share!

This cart is a remix and resprite of zep's demo birds.p64
It only spawns one instead of a bunch like the bird script did before, the bird.lua itself has had all the tunable values hoisted to the top of the file as variables the user can play with, those have been adjusted to make Maple fly more like a witch on a broom instead of the flapping behavior of the bird.
The resprite has Maple being much larger than the bird sprite so she is offset a few pixels in the draw_bird() function.
I might add more features and sprite frames in the future, thanks zep for the useful demos!
If you want the version in the gif, get version 1

THE FRACTAL CALENDAR
A clock that reads time as six nested binary rhythms rather than hours and minutes.
What you're looking at
Six horizontal rows of hexagrams constructed from two trigram sprites each row, (from top to bottom): Pico, Nano, Micro, Meso, Macro, Aeon. Each row has a different period — from about 2 hours (Pico) to about 8 years (Aeon). Time flows through each layer as one of eight states, determined by which half, quarter, or eighth of the cycle the current moment occupies, represented by that trigram. The result is a fractal binary rhythm that repeats at each scale.
Each row shows two tracks:
- Universal track (bottom layer) — measured from 2000-12-21 00:00:00 UTC, a fixed epoch. This is time moving forward independently of anyone.
Oscilloscope for viewing .sfx files
As well as the usual graph over time, it can plot the left and right channels against each other, so you can draw circles by having two sine waves out of phase etc (this is the default mode, since its the interesting one :3)
The info.txt file explains stuff fully, but the important thing to know is that you can play files with the file explorer in the top left, and to change how its plotted, you can press the circle or wavy line icons in the bottom left, or you can hold right click to rotate in 3d
the songs in samples/music/ can also be listened to on bandcamp https://nettakrim.bandcamp.com/album/hexadecapod-right-now
note: in the web version, the cursor acts weird after being locked (eg due to rotating). also the audio quality seems worse?

A minimalist puzzle game
Try to recreate the pixel-art image (shown on the top right of the screen), by pushing lines or columns, one pixel at a time.
Controls
- O (C on a keyboard): toggle line/column selection
- D-pad / arrows: select line/column or push it !
When in line mode:
- left: push line to the left. The ejected pixel on the left goes to the right
- right: push line to the right. The ejected pixel on the right foes to the left
- up/down: select another line
When in column mode: same idea but you move the selected column with left/right and push pixels with up/down
- X: menu.
