Jumperlin
Hi! This is my first released game.
Jumperlin is a precision platformer made in PICO-8. There are three unique areas, each with its own palette and difficulty. Dodge moving spikes, ride moving platforms, and time your jumps. Reach the end and escape this mad place.
Controls
On the keyboard, aim using the arrow keys. Press X to launch and Z to abort the launch.
Update
I just added a "HELP MODE" that will make some levels easier in case you're having trouble.

Lore
This little bird must flap its wings to save the world. If you flap your wings, the world will still be saved, but if you die...
Features
I sought to make a minimally complete game. I tried to make it as functional as possible. I decided to use this game to learn everything I could about Pico-8. That said, in this game you will see scene transitions, pipes that progressively increase speed, and a scoring system for playing locally against other friends.
About Code
If anyone wants to better understand how I implemented certain mechanics, I tried to explain them as clearly as possible in comments in the source code. I plan to document all of them in the future and make separate posts to help new developers.
Some Talk
Hi, I am trying to document my journey as a beginner game developer. I have been completely in love with Pico-8 since I first encountered it, so I decided to become a Pico-8 developer for fun. I created a Flappy Bird game as my first attempt, inspired by the YouTube channel Space Cat. I watched his tutorial and tried to make my own game. One of my sprites (the pipes) I got from the Space Cat tutorial, and the pixel art title I saw on the website colourbox.com. I couldn't find the author, but I searched for “pixel art lettering.”. That's it, I hope you enjoy it.

NOTE: You will need to unsandbox this (via About dialog) because it needs to be able to launch filenav.
If you're anything like me you probably have a bunch of folders open for moving things around, editing your work, and referencing other stuff. Navigating back to the same location every time is a pain, so you keep a bunch of windows open, and now you have a cluttered workspace. Well I wanted to do something about that, so I made this.
Places Pane is inspired by the left-side pane found in modern file managers, where you can drag your favorite folders to pin them for quick access later. Picotron doesn't offer a lot of screen real-estate, so having it on every filenav window would make things messy. Instead, Places Pane sits on your desktop, like a tidier replacement for desktop shortcuts.

To unlock all creatures inside the globe, correctly sort 100 of each game.
Made for the PICO-8 Advent Calendar 2025. Thanks to @kevinthompson and @bikibird for hosting and all the work coordinating so many devs. Also thanks to all the playtesters and @Werxzy for his lerping function.

Santa has just 3 minutes to deliver the last batch of presents for the good little boys and girls in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the Bogey Men have caught up with him and want to steal the presents for themselves. How many presents can you deliver before time runs out?
Merry Christmas, 2025, from SkaterDee!
