I'd like to include something that sounds at least approximately like vocals. It doesn't need to be particularly intelligible aside from hearing sharp sounds that might be "k" or "c" or "x" and vowel sounds.
Is this possible in Picotron? Heck, is this possible in PICO-8? I own PICO-8 already, but I've played with TIC-80 and the larger screen and defaulting to full keyboard+mouse being available kinda slaps. Picotron seems a lot nicer in comparison, though, and it having the capability to do something-like-vocals might be the final point in favor of being irresponsible with my money. :P
(For reference, I want to demake Patapon, or at least make something vaguely similar.)

Importing a .png spritesheet with the new 0.2.1 version doesn't seem to work as before. Some of the transparent pixels are being considered solid and/or some pixels are doubled in size.
In this 16x16 spritesheet all the cells are read as 17 pixels because of the color aberration:

DCP - Dont Crush the Plane
Is my first game created in my entire life.
What is DCP
Is a simple game that you control a airplane that needs to reach in the end of phase.
In DCP, you have 3 phases. A day phase, Night phase and Candy world phase.
just be sure if you will not get a charged cloud like this

How works ?
Is simples, you only move the arrows up and down to move the airplane, and Z or X to interact with menus.

When setting up a window for an app, you can set pixels to be transparent, so the background shows through. This allows us to have simple on/off transparency, but it does not allow us to blend colours and have translucent windows. My suggestion is to let the cart give the window a colour table. This would be applied before drawing the window and removed afterwards, and it would let the window blend with the background.
PONGA
This is a fast-paced arcade game made in PICO-8, inspired by the classic Pong, but with a modern twist.
The goal is simple: keep the ball in play and outsmart your opponent, but be careful, every hit makes it faster!
Features:
- Smooth and responsive controls
- Gradually increasing ball speed for extra challenge
- Simple but dynamic AI opponent
- Particle effects on every bounce
- Classic 8-bit look and feel
How to play:
- 🕹️ Move your paddle using the arrow keys
- 🅾️ or ❎ to start or restart
- First to miss loses — but you can always try again!
Notes:
I wanted to capture that retro vibe while keeping the gameplay intense and satisfying.
Any feedback or suggestions are welcome.
I’d love to hear what you think!
Enjoy!
