Resource management simulator made for p8jam1.
Collect rainwater in tanks to water crops with, which speeds up the process of growing, or instead just let the rain water the crops.

There isn't really any goal other than trying not to run out of money/crops.

1.0.1

  • can no longer dig while in title screen
  • can no longer plant on tank
  • updated error messages to be more informative
  • tank level is now reset when tile is recycled

I like the concept, but I rapidly reached a point where I had enough crops that the game was impossible to lose so I guess I won. :L

Yes it's not about winning, it's more about just playing the way you want while learning and reflecting on the system, in a kind of meditative way. The concept could of course be developed further to be more puzzle like.

I feel so relaxed right now. Thank you for that!

I had some barrels of water initially, but as my farm grew to the limit I dropped them.

This is really cool. I found myself playing for a good 15 minutes. It'd be great to see this expanded upon.

I love this game! it is so simple and yet so deep! I could play it for hours. Thank you for this game!

Thank you all so much for the feedback!
I feel that the tools/tile system is solid enough to reuse for similar kinds of games so I'll probably do that in the future.
Perhaps it would be fun to add scrolling and object movement between tiles for the next game.

The user interface is surprisingly nice! Very clever use of the limited inputs. I like it a lot.

And farming is quite relaxing. :)

I was prety confuse at first, but once you understand what you have to do, it's prety cool. The menu is a bit difficult to use, maybe a "real" menu that interupt you gameplay would be clearer.

This is lovely! The music feels very appropriate and the sfx are nice. The aimlessness of it all is super charming!
Also, I disagree with NuSan, I think the menu is pretty clever and actually feels nice enough.

is the rain suppose to always fall in the upper left quadrant of the screen?

P#17593 2015-12-07 23:51 ( Edited 2015-12-08 04:51)

The rain is supposed to cover a fairly random square of the screen each iteration, so I guess it could at times be present mostly in the upper left. It could also be that there is a bug somewhere regarding the calculation of the square, but I'm pretty sure I've seen rain in other parts of the screen at times.

Very nice little game! I included it in my Pico-8 Jam #1 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHEiGl10Aw8
