Hello, thank you for trying Sproutcasts!
Sproutcasts is a labor of love for myself and @PJOTT.
In Sproutcasts, you build your community garden while recruiting other inhabitants to help you along your way. Throughout your gardening journey, you'll be given bounties to complete before the end of turn 10 each season. Fail to complete a bounty and your run will come to an end. Complete all four seasons while finishing your bounties and you win! Win or lose, you have the potential to cement your run's score on the leaderboard.
Start by choosing your character, then pick a starting bounty. Spend your first couple of turns determining your strategy. Will you fill up your garden right away, or spend your time at events? Choose wisely and always keep the bounty in the back of your mind. Once your 10th turn is done, and your bounty is complete, you'll add a new recruit to your garden. This new recruit can be placed in your garden to boost the value of a plant and can provide a potential exclusive bounty. Continue your journey as the seasons change, and strive for that high score!
Sproutcasts is a WIP, and we deeply appreciate all thoughtful feedback. Many updates are on their way.
We're excited to see your name up on the leaderboard!
NPH & PJOTT
9/7 Update:
To view/submit to the leaderboard, it appears you must have a product (Pico-8, Picotron, etc. registered to your Lexaloffle account.
Bug Fix: Recruiting an inhabitant and then immediately dragging it onto your garden and back to your roster would cause an out of bounds error. This has been fixed.

historical boat racers, but history didn't fit in 1024 bytes.
for the 1kb PICO-1K Jam 2026!
You the player, aboard the Wayfarer.
Hideyoshi Toyotomi, aboard the Sunomata.
Why does Hideyoshi have a speedboat? Don't worry about it.
Keyboard controls:
Left / Right — Steer
Up — Accelerate
X — Boost. Be careful, you only have one!

Sprint
Press Z repeatedly to run
Press up and Z to jump (you'll need to build momentum to jump further)
As you take any action your energy will deplete, at which point you'll need to rest. Eat fruit to refill your energy
This was a sketch I did around 2021/2022, I had the idea of a jogging based platformer where you had to get through a level under a time limit, while watching your energy levels. The fruit pickup is somewhat Adventure Island inspired.
I made a small Picotron wave sim for a project that never came to fruition a few months ago, so I decided to squish it down for the Pico-1K jam. The shrinkotron compressed code is only 822 bytes, but could probably be compressed a lot more aggressively, I just didn't have much of a reason to hehe
Also thank you Nettakrim for helping me with making the refraction userdata based <3
Enjoy!

I'm really into marble games, and when I ran zep's raycast demo I was wishing i could drive a marble around it. I got a bit carried away...
For the renderer i've been trying to improve depth/speed perception for marble purposes. I stuck a grid on the tiles first, and then decided to outline the top edges of blocks when viewed from the side to make it easier to see stairs from a distance.
The grid isn't present on the ground floor. I was imagining making the lowest height be a kill floor, like you are floating in the air jumping on platforms. But I haven't done that since it'd need a level designed around it, and it's fine enough to roll around on with the current level design because there's enough stuff around the map. It is a neat effect I think, maybe I'll do a transparent grid like you're on glass to justify it.

This project has mainly been to learn more about 3D rendering and for fun. Feel free to critique or mess with the code if you want.
Controls:
First person camera:
(←)/(→) moves camera side to side
(↑)/(↓) moves camera backwards and forwards
Mouse input for camera direction e.g. pitch, yaw
Render Settings:
'x' turns ground shadown casting on/off
'c' turns obj-to-obj occlusion on/off
'm' turns 'wireframe' on/off
Hop Climber
Tiny arcade experience: hop up to the top while racking points!
Longer hops = higher scores
PC Controls:
- Z - Quick tap to Hop (don't hold!)
- X - Back
- Arrows - Move
Tips:
- While holding Z you can't grab walls, so do quick taps!
- Don't be afraid of falling, climb to the very edge before jumping.
- You only let go of the wall when you press Z.
- For higher scores, try dropping from a high altitude. Hold Z to pass through walls!

Hi !
This is my first game ever : a cross between Tetris and Suika Game !
Merge two blocks of the same color to create a new one. Merge two green blocks to make them disappear !
It's still in development, so feedback is welcome. The music is just a basic loop, don't bother with it yet.
If you're not familiar with Suika Game, you can play it here : https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=136042#p

A fast paced, 1980s-style "laser-hell" shmup.
This was written for lowrezJAM, and so uses 64x64 pixel resolution.
Detailed instructions (including a printable instruction booklet) on the game's itch.io page: https://dredds.itch.io/you-brought-a-gun-to-a-laser-fight
