playable picross/nonograms in a postcart and a half! (450 characters)
it uses the symbols available in the PICO-8 font as the goal image, and uses some palette trickery to make it visible when you quit out :)
some symbols are unsolvable from individual row/column clues, some don't have a unique solution.
maybe smaller is possible but I'm happy enough with this

Tummy!
My first original PICO-8 game!

Hello there! This week i managed to finish my first pico-8 game, I've been chipping away at it slowly since January, fitting it in around my day-job and looking after my now 7 month old baby. Just taking what i learned from the Game Development with Pico-8 zine by Dylan Bennett, and keeping the Nerdy Teachers reference guides on hand. Plus a lot of googling, searching and asking the community when I was truly stuck.
My background is in art and graphic design, so not much experience in the way of coding, but I've absolutely fallen in love with the problem solving element of it. I've got some ideas for what I want to take on next but as a first project, limiting myself to just one button and one action really helped to scope a project that was achievable, and still allowed room for adding extras and just generally getting used to all the different aspects of game development that Pico-8 enables you to do.

Degrees of Scale
A simple little game to make memorising musical scale degrees a bit funner than the age-old flashcard method.
How To Play
You control a falling note with a little number above it.
If the number is 1
Then you need to land your note on its relative scale degree.
For example, If you're practicing fifths and your note is C(1) then you need to land it on a G(5).
If the number is anything other than 1
Then you need to land your note on its root note.
For example, if you're practicing fifths, but this time your note is G(5), then you need to land it on C(1).

It will only save 32 animations!
Simple Animation Editor (PICO-8)
Made a small animation editor using the mouse.
- drag on the sprite sheet to select frames
- supports different sprite sizes
- use + / - to change frame count
- simple picker + editor system
This is the animation system I used for my platformer builder.
Get Free Sprites here.
Feel free to use or modify 👍
Its at the point it can be used to make many different kinds of builders.
Add a paint editor and turn it into an animation studio.

Top-Down (Zelda-style)

My first pico-8 game, Paper Plane, is a game where you fly as a paper plane across 4 levels, avoiding obstacles.
Controls
Up/Left and Down/Right to orient the paper plane. Make it dive down and take speed or going up slowing down.
Making the game
I started this project while I was working on my game Super Cosmo Adventure, which is the first game I made in Godot, and the first game I published on the internet (it is free on itch here : https://xieloz.itch.io/super-cosmo-adventure ). Super Cosmo Adventure as my first project was tough (I worked on it on and off for 1 year and a half) and at a point I needed to do something else to not go insane x) So at this moment I remembered I got Pico-8 in a Humble Bundle a while back and decided to give it a try.

A simple othello clone with turn-based multiplayer.
My first foray into multiplayer games! Uses scoresub to capture game state and update.

Hello, everyone!
I’ve created a Steam store page for my game, NUMBAKO Steam edition!
URL : https://store.steampowered.com/app/4663090/NUMBAKO/
Since NUMBAKO is a competitive puzzle game, I decided to release it on Steam.
One big reason was that I felt it would be much more exciting if people could play it online.
I hope this can be helpful for anyone considering releasing a pico-8 game on Steam in the future.
Because of the NDA, I can’t say much about SteamWorks in detail, but enabling online multiplayer was very simple.
In my case, all I had to do in SteamWorks was enable Remote Play Together.
Steam provides a system that lets local multiplayer games be played online.
So if your game supports local two-player play, players can use screen sharing to play with friends online.
In other words, if your game already supports “plug in another controller for two-player play,” you may already have a simple path to online multiplayer.
Hi,
I made a little tool easy to reuse and easy to modify for virtual keyboards !
Anta's pico keyboard
Anta's pico keyboard is a tool representing a basic virtual keyboard in pico8 easy to handle and for the cost of 351 tokens if used as is.
It can be used like a library and is easy to modify the vkey_draw() function to fit your style, that will make you free of 65 tokens.
compared to devkit keyboard, the virtual keyboard allow devices that don't have a keyboard like phones to still play the game with only the basic inputs from pico8.
tools like that may exist, but I found it funnier to make my own and recreate the wheel, by also making it easy to port on different projects
Play as a bee to rebuild the forest, but beware of the lumberjacks that are cutting down your precious trees!
Hover over tiles with flowers to pollinate them and begin growing your trees. Doing so will collect nectar. Collect 5 nectar to create 1 honey. Once you have 5 honey, you can initiate a swarm and attack the lumberjacks.
Once you've rebuilt the forest, you win the game!

A game inspired by the song 'Blackbird' by The Wurzels. You are a farmer and a blackbird is causing you problems. It is currently up a wurzel tree. With your girt big stick, can you knock it down?
Controls:

Down - Aim lower
