Good day to you! This is Ruva.

Please let me introduce my stealth action game, The Magnificent Step.

You can select 2 abilities from 6, which makes various gameplay.

  • Galeforce
Can run much faster than enemies, enough not to be caught in their eyes.

  • Obscure
Will be invisible, to get away from their sights instantly. But runs slower.

  • Daybreak
Stun enemies nearby for a while, but consume all the power meter (= Burn out).

  • Sound Shot
Set the sound container to attract enemies nearby. Not useful during the alert.

  • Sneak Shot
Shoot a slow bullet, then warp to the bullet's place. Even can go through the walls.

  • Stun Shot
Shoot the bullet to stun the enemies. No need to consume all the powers at once.

Also there are some gimmicks to go through the goal gate.
Get the key to get out! Sometimes you also need to switch the lever.

*Currently there is only 1 stage, but I posted because I would like feedbacks or reviews.
So kindly please leave your comments👍 The other stages are going to be added.

Best regards,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYpKfox86kU Title theme screen video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZmlpHye1KA and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozhPOS-9VWI Game play in color. Stage clear on the 2nd video at the end. Stage 1-1 to Stage Clear 1-4.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDqMIkk_MnE Game play in white and black pixels. Maybe for the Pico-8?

I never bought the game. I only played the sample version and the other version. So I don't know what the rest of the stages look like. Nobody posted a video on the retail version.

Your own version of it.

Jurassic Chaos Reborn

A Game Boy–era floaty platformer re-imagined.

A short, focused platformer built for deliberate movement, exploration, and learning enemy behavior. Play it a little slower—this one rewards patience.

Controls

  • D-Pad — Move / Aim
  • Button 1 — Jump
  • Button 2 — Shoot

What to Expect

  • Genre: Platformer
  • Playtime: ~5–20 minutes
  • 8 handcrafted levels
  • Faster on replays once you learn the layouts
  • Two play modes: Normal (allows continuing from the current level) and Yolo (used unironically)

This is a complete, finite experience—not an endless run.

Status

Version 1.42
Just realized my raptors don't make sounds when attacking any more. Little things like this that don't affect gameplay have had issues from my efforts to condense code and save tokens, but I think this is the last one. I have played it through twice now and I don't see anything getting past me as not working, that was working before 1.4.

Version 1.41

  • Fixed my lightning mechanic that I just realized I broke... Now I'm officially at 8192 tokens, but it should be solid :)

Version 1.4

  • Removed YOLO mode (I never used it, and I don't think anyone else did either).
  • Removed the horizontal swaying animation from the palm trees. The parallax scrolling is still there, and I think it looks better without the extra movement.
  • Made some minor tweaks to input handling to eliminate a possible issue with double presses being detected.

These changes freed up just enough tokens to squeeze in a couple of new features:

  • Improved diagonal aiming: Horizontal movement now pauses when aiming diagonally upward. This makes it easier to line up a shot and wait for the right moment to fire.
  • A new finale! This is the biggest addition to Version 1.4.

I've wanted to vary the gameplay with a boss encounter for a while now, but I couldn't free up enough space in the cart for the boss battle I originally imagined. Still, I wanted something more satisfying than simply ending the game after the last level.

With my remaining tokens, I managed to squeeze in a helicopter escape sequence!

After completing Level 8, you'll find yourself flying away in a helicopter while pterodactyls swoop in and charge at you. There's no health bar, and you can't die. Instead, getting hit knocks back your progress toward escape, meaning you'll have to survive a little longer. A small bar at the bottom of the screen shows how close you are to getting away.

Level 8 is still the final level. The helicopter sequence is just a little bonus finale. Think of it as my last "thanks for playing!"

I always say I'm done with this one. Whether that's actually true this time remains to be seen. :)
I still have a few ideas I'd love to explore, but at this point they might be better suited to entirely new games. We'll see what time and passion allow.

Thanks for playing!

Version 1.21

  • Minor performance improvements
  • Fixed “YOLO” (You Only Live Once) mode — you now actually only live once with your 6 hearts :)

Version: v1.2

This release expands on the original v1.0 with new content while keeping the core experience intact.
Future v2.x updates would only happen if the project moves into multi-cart territory.

Update v1.2:

  • Added a new lightning-based core mechanic
  • Added 2 new levels built around it
  • Minor balance, polish, and level tuning
  • Raptor SFX updated (no longer sounds like murdering a Casio My Magic Diary)

Original release: v1.0

Final unless bug fixes or necessary gameplay tuning.

Notes

Made entirely by me over ~65 days while learning PICO-8.

Inspired by early handheld platformers and the feel of 90s portable games.

In the 90s, I purchased Jurassic Park 2: The Chaos Continues (Game Boy) and discovered that it wasn’t a great game—but it was the first game I ever bought with my own money, earned as a paperboy. I played it constantly until I eventually came to appreciate it, and to this day I would count it as one of my “desert island” games. This project is a small love letter to that era of games and life.

Tips

  • Take it slow
  • Try not to shoot the triceratops
  • The rex might seem slow, but one bite and it’s over—don’t forget she’s there ;)
  • When you feel like you’ve got the flow of the levels down, try playing through in “Yolo” for some added stress

update 3.0 - fixed an inconsistency with decay placement and reduced cpu to 4 percent

NEW UPDATE 2.0 -
now uses only 6 percent cpu :D

based on a post from zep, but optimized for performance with userdata

it only uses around 10 percent cpu which i think is an improvement to the 15 zeps version was using,
and it also doesnt show any circles if you move windows around quickly. not to mention the 9 3d
rotating wireframe cubes. sorry for no custom color support, i may add it in the future but not
all colors in picotrons palette have enough shades to do this smoothly the same as it can with green

the preview doesnt work correctly for some reason, im sorry about that. i want you to be able to

Independent Project created in Lua with the PICO-8 game engine.

Objective: Shoot as much aliens/asteroids as possible before your spaceship crashes.

Rules: The player has 3 lives, each time a life is lost the spaceship will be noticeably damaged. When all lives are lost the game ends. The aliens and asteroids spawn at a faster as the game progresses.

Controls: Left and right arrow keys to move the spaceship, up arrow to fire.

BIC – Binary Image Creator

by stryck

this project is OpenSource and free, use it as you want just credit me or this page like "original project : " <3

mouse enabled

BIC (Binary Image Creator) is a small creative tool/game where you build pixel images entirely from binary data.

Instead of drawing pixels directly, you define an image using bits (0 and 1):

  • The first bits describe the image width

  • The next bits describe the image height

  • The remaining bits represent the pixel data

This turns pixel art into a playful exploration of binary logic, data representation, and creativity.

How it works

  • Edit bits on the left panel

  • Instantly see the resulting image on the right

  • Switch to display mode to view the final pixel output

  • Experiment with different binary configurations to discover unexpected shapes

BIC is part toy, part editor, part educational experiment.

I'm working on a virtual 8-bit CPU within PICO-8, loosely inspired by the 6502 processor. It's an in-progress fulfillment of my dream to type assembly language instructions at a command prompt and execute them immediately by pressing Enter... hence the "REPL" (read-evaluate-print loop) in "REPL Assembler."

... Yeah, I have strange dreams.

Since PICO-8 doesn't have an assembly language, I'm creating my own. And what's a fantasy assembly language without a fantasy virtual machine to run it...

In the cartridge at the top of this post, I've implemented only the eight CPU instructions I needed to make a Hello World program. Here's a GIF of me pasting in my hand-assembled Hello World program as decimal machine code and running it:

This is my first attempt at a game, please be kind!

Game Summary

You play as Belle, a diver who has landed herself in some pretty deep waters! Ascend back up to her diving bell to get her back to safety by jumping on jellyfish and managing your oxygen!

The bar at the bottom of the screen is Belle's oxygen, make your way over to the bubbles coming from the ground to fill it back up.
Don't take too long jumping from platform to platform, or she will be sleeping with the fishes.

Controls

The controls are simple, Z to jump and arrow keys to move, if you happen to drown or take a bath in some spikes, you can press X to respawn.

Hello there!

This is my first Pico8 game (and my first game in general). The code is definitely a mess, and the game could probably use some balance adjustments and more features, buuuut it's playable! (I think)

Lore

Guide a young sorceress on her quest to explore a mysterious maze full of solars - valuable crystals that emit the energy of the sun.

Be mindful of spikes - whoever designed this maze really enjoyed putting them everywhere ;)

How to Play:

  • Use arrows to move.
  • Hold button O (c or z on keyboard) to see how many solars you've collected, your current health and remaining time limit.
  • Watch out for spikes.

Come in and serve drinks to cute cowboy platypuses!

Description
This is my first game ever and I want to document the start of my journey. This project is part of may masters programme and had following restrictions:

  • use Pico 8
  • make a game about a random generated title
  • work alone
  • no AI
  • 2 week deadline

My random title was Ye Olde Platypus Saloon and since I am a fresh beginner I tried to make something small. I had instantly the vision of a simple serving game, but to my surprise it was not easy to find tutorials or something. So I did my best to make it work and programmed a lot of unnecessary code in the first week. For example I defined each customer, their location and mechanic seperatly. The second week I reworked my code to make the appearing customers random and get the code more efficient.
