In this map you must adventure through a forest full of enemys, invade a castle, and claim victory!

This is a work in progress. Optimally, the final result will have 26 rooms instead of just 7. This level revolves around alphabetical things:

Apple, Build, Chocolate, Duplicate, [Sword of] Eternity, Freeze, and. . . Go.

Yeah, I was out of ideas on that last one; I can't find any Voxatron objects which would supply me with a better G-word. Maybe every room should have a random voxelated thing instead of a Voxatron thing, so rooms like that last one which aren't themed around Voxatron items won't stick out like sore thumbs. :P

Feel free to remix this level if you have any better ideas for things starting with A, B, C, D, E, F, or G, or ideas for better room designs overall. My only request is that you change the level's name to "Now [b]We

Hi,

Can I ask a question about the game engine? Before blitting to the back buffer, do you combine the cubes into single meshes or simply blit each cube one at a time? How are you working out which cubes need to be blitted? Or do you blit all cubes regardless of whether they're obscured?

Can you show a pre-blitted wire grab?

Thanks,
Lee

Using an Xbox 360 wired pad in Windows XP Pro.

During levels, pressing 'in' an analog pad causes the level to pause/exit.

Alright guys. Maybe some of you have noticed my leave of absence, regardless I've caught word of 0.2.0 and decided to work on Sock Ghost 3-2. However, I've seem to have run out of ideas. I've made the first room. Check it out and see if you can come up with what part 2 should have.

Here is a level on which i've been working on for some time; it features a few interesting things, like:

-use-once doors and no-door-thing (nothing exceptional, just used them as they're supposed to be used)
-four mini-game like rooms, or at least that was what i was trying to do :P
-the tail of the main character swings and he goes up and down while he walks (probably the most interesting thing)
-A countdown that makes an invisible wall appear and sorround the end-the-level-thing, thus giving you a time limit (it's in the "kill all the monsters" part)
-the character is also a little slower and jumps a lot less than the robot

I have to admit that I didn't put too much effort in graphics, except for the crocodile animations.
Hope you enjoy the level, have fun!

I see levels which are scripted. How can you make scripts and import it to your levels?

Thanks :)

My first level. I wanted to create a nice-looking gauntlet for the player to run through while still providing a challenge.

I have my first level ready for upload, but I have no idea where Voxed saves levels by default. Can someone help me out?

Hello,
I was just trying to run Voxatron on my notebook with optimus, but it simply fails to start.
I have Fedora 17 and Bumblebee to run OGL stuff on the discrete card.
The notebook has a GT555M and some internal Intel Sandybridge GPU.
If I try to run Voxatron with Bumblebee(via optirun) it spews these errors:

ERROR: ld.so: object 'libdlfaker.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'librrfaker.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.

If I try to start it normally on the Intel GPU it neither starts nor prints any errors.

What to do?

those are so cute, a stampede of elephants would be sweet in voxatron if the leg was as big as a minotaur. Voxatron man could run up the nose and leap on top to avoid getting trampled. I can hear jumps downstairs mixing the blueness album... late nite snacks in the none kitchen. hows tokyo?

Just for fun. I'm trying to make some actors Mario-kart style from Voxatron actors. More karts will follow, while crappiness is being removed ;)

Ok today I done a quick run-around v 0.2.0 and I think it's pretty awesome! Anyway I have some question,if you can answer them, plesae tell me :) :

-In the editor icons of monster, items, objects are small, can I change the size ?
-I saw in some level speed test ( slower and faster movement speed ) how can you do this ?
-I saw in some level jump speed increased how you do that ?
-And if I want to make let's say, in a room my character get slime stick to it, so it moves slower and in the next room, slimes have gone ( he move normally ) is that possible ?
-I know that if you type _dojo at your first level, it gives you "permanent" sword but how do you start a level with no weapons like in fox demo v 2.0
-Let's say I would like my character start with 2 health bar, possible ?

Yeah, it's alot of question. I also think that some other people want to know the answer.

So thanks, I hope that you zep can answer this :) !

To celebrate Voxatron 0.2.0 coming out I say we have a Level making contest! :D
The theme for this contest will be: POST-APOCALYPTIC!
The levels should be about 5-10 stages long. (Subject to change.)
Voting for the best level should happen here and should be based on:

ENTERTAINMENT: how fun the map is.
STYLE: how everything looks.
STORY: how well the progression of the stages is. (No random teleports to no where. Unless it is through a teleporter)
OVER-ALL: the important one. (more rating choices are accepted)

The levels should have a end goal.
The contest will end by May 31 so get going! :D
(Date subject to change also)

The winner of this competion will get whatever zep decides! (sorry zep :P)

I will try to answer questions regarding the contest.

I had been using the .zip versions, so player_1.vop, etc, was just in the extracted folder. With .2 I decided to use the proper windows installer version. However, I can't find where to copy my old saves to!

The closest I could find is %AppData%\Roaming\Voxatron\ but that only has bbs_levels and my editor levels. I've verified the new version is saving settings/progress, but where? (Also verified it's not %Program Files%\Voxatron\, as expected.)

Thanks!
