A heads up for Voxatron users -- the first version of the Lua api will be out next week in 0.3.5!
Pictured above is the result of drawing voxels directly into a room's map. The 0.3.5 api also provides access to actor attributes and state, spawning, camera control, and direct access to the display. The entire PICO-8 api is in there with some 3D counterparts (line3d, box, sphere), and it's possible to import a pico-8 cart into the resource tree, place it in a room, and run the cart on a single slice of the display. The .p8 cart shows up in the resource navigator, and is placeable in the room like this:

The code can also be edited to make slight adjustments for the 3d display:

In other news, I've updated the website with mobile-friendly cart listings and touch controls for the carts. It's still a work in progress -- the sound in particular is very choppy or missing altogether. But apart from that it is quite useable. If you have a modern phone or touch device please try it out!

WOW. Cartception!!
Now THIS looks kickass. What's the PICO-to-Vox-bundle upgrade, again? :D
EDIT: Never mind. Got it that other way. I just happen to have a spare PICO, now. Which is excellent!

Look forward to new update :)
I have a question: I been having trouble merging rooms from one cart to another. It looks like object's IDs are getting mixed up. i was wondering if you have addressed this in new
update or if there is a specific way you need to do it to avoid
id conflicts.
Also is there is a way to capture an animated Gif of you Vox level.
Thx,
Much appreciated.

Two months later...

Day 87
We've been lost in the woods for almost 3 months. We are running low on supplies. The locals are as helpful as they can be, but we can not survive on their charity alone. When we started this journey we assumed it would only take one week. But as the days grow in number, the nights grow colder and threaten to drain us of all hope that we will ever reach Lua API alive. If only there were some sign form the Creator (of Voxatron.)

It's a shame that it's taking so long because I believe there will be a creative explosion when the Lua API is released. Browsing through Voxatron's carts is quite a let down compared to the wonderful selection that Pico-8 has to offer. I've got a ton of ideas that I'm looking forward to try.
