An homage to Super Hexagon by Terry Cavanagh.
Most of development was done in Jan 2022 but lots of tuning and polish to finish it up went in the past couple of weeks.

Controls: z,x and left/right arrow keys. Enter key for menu.

Like the original, this game is HARD! Find a path through for 120 seconds to win the stage.

Code comments should help if you'd like to hack the stage palettes, tweak speeds, or make your own patterns.

Please feel free to remix.

Thanks to @p01 for the efficient pico-8 triangle drawing routine used here.
Thanks to pico-8 hexagon 1K, etc competitors for inspiration!

Hi, I entered the really basic 1kb version in the jam. It looks like you've managed to include all the features and it plays much truer (and just as difficult!) to the original. Thanks for unintentionally waiting until mine released as if I'd have known there was already a great demake of it, I'd likely not have chosen it for the jam :)

Hi WeeblBull, that's the one! https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=49259
It's amazing to see the gameplay distilled into the pico-8 equivalent of assembly language-- in comparison, it was much easier to approach it with all the features of pico-8.
I appreciate the reminder and inspiration to get my act together and get this out too.

Wow ! This is super-hard for me to play, but it is well-built and superbly animated and orchestrated (musically).

I am definitely no good at this sort of thing but I can see a lot of love in this cart, gold star all the way.

Thanks so much for the kind words, @kollumos and @dw817!
