SAM-Robot is a tiny speech synthesizer built for PICO-8. Inspired by the classic SAM voice system, it can turn English text into real-time robotic speech. The project combines text-to-phoneme conversion, formant synthesis and sampled consonants, while being optimized to fit PICO-8’s limited CPU, memory and cartridge space.
This is the version 2 of a game that I made before this that was called fishing.

behind the scenes
I am very young, and this game took a lot of time to figure out. one of the pros was making the clouds, fish, and other scenery, because I really like to do art in the pico 8 style. one of the cons though, was how long it took to make this whole thing. It took about an hour to get the casting to work, and even more for the shop. nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this fun fishing game that I have spent so long on.
Made during Falling Block Jam 2026!
Controls:
Up - Hard drop
Left - Move left
Right - Move right
Down - Soft drop (Hard drop on Master★)
Z / C - Rotate (Counter-clockwise by default)
X / V - Rotate (Clockwise by default)
Rotation direction can be swapped in the pause menu at any time.
Screenshake effects can be toggled on/off at anytime in the pause menu.
To complete a puzzle you must fill in the pattern with bright tiles, without filling the board completely (excluding gutter) and without topping out.
Place tiles you don't want in the gutter. It will remove a determined amount of rows every few drops. The gutter is the three right-most columns, colour-coded purple.

Find 9 cats lost in a cave...
For the PICO-1K Jam 2026. 1024 compressed bytes exactly! 🐈 (As per the 1k jam rules the game does not use the spritesheet/map; it's 100% code.)
Instructions
Arrow keys to move, O to jump. Green walls are bouncy and sticky. Find 9 cats and feel satisfied (there's no game over screen).
Sprite & Map Compression
The only real feature of note folks might be interested in is the sprite compression which uses a basic RLE system.

Recently on picotron's discord server we've been talking about making a "pass the game" game, I don't know the correct term, but the core idea is that there's 5 people, each person gets an hour to work on the game but they can't communicate.
We also had an idea to take a spin on it, for the first three itterations it would be like any other, however the 4'th and 5'th iteration would split into two "different" games both building off of what the first three people made, to see where the idea would go.
As stated previously, the biggest rule is that you can't directly communicate
What this means, is that for example, you are allowed to leave a comment explaining what a function does, and you can leave a comment saying what has already been made, but you can't leave a comment saying what needs to be added to a function or what you want to do later on
As of now I believe we have 5 people (including me) who would participate, so we need 2 more people, the order in which what people develop the game when will be random, however please say if you are fine with going first, not stating so will automatically leave to the assumption that you don't wish to do so.
If you're looking for a cozy game, this ain't it.

Calm, intentional, but ferocious. When the hyenas circle, he walks with an unbothered and unwavering calm, only lashing out at the time and place of his choosing. All are welcome to the jungle, but don't cross the king.

I started this 3D renderer, but stopped working on it since my game concept was a bit performance-demanding and hard to design levels for. I may return after a Picotron update. Sharing in case anyone else benefits from the code.
Three demos are included. Press Heart (F) to switch demo.
Orthographic Platformer:
- Move with left stick (arrow keys)
- Camera with right stick (WSAD)
- Jump with X (X)
3D Scenes (boxes and sphere):
- Move camera with left stick + O/X (arrows + Z/X)
- Rotate camera with right stick and L/R (WSAD + QE)
Features:
- Quads
- Backface culling
- Sprite textures
- Ambient + diffuse lighting with dither patterns
!!!WARNING!!! if you run in Picotron, it can crash Picotron itself if objects too close to camera. Save your work before using in Picotron!

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share Mr. Dodgy, my very first PICO-8 game!
In this game, you play as a tiny computer trying to survive while collecting floppy disks containing system installation files. But beware: as we all know, the more software you install, the more bugs pop up—and they start spawning much faster!
Controls:
Arrow Keys: Move
X: Action
Since this is my debut project in PICO-8, I’d love to hear your thoughts, feedback, or any bug reports (pun intended!). Hope you enjoy dodging!
Check it out also on itch.io! -> https://noobsgames.itch.io/mrdodgy

According to the docs[1], SUB(S, 5, TRUE) should return a single character, but it returns the rest of the string in pico-8 0.2.7. The example code in the docs prints QUICK BROWN FOX instead of Q
(S[5] works so i'll just use that)

Heya Picotronners.
Idea popped up for implementing git into picotron, which I now know is a massive task, but the idea was shared by Abledbody with the fact that "Maybe with enough people picking at the prerequisite parts we'll find ourselves with a full stack one day.".
Abledbody themselves have actually made an SHA1 hashing function which is one of the things for git.
(unsure if it's posted elsewhere, but can be found in the picotron discord here: https://canary.discord.com/channels/1068899948592107540/1497749501232943245)
Abledbody attempted this git system in the past and realised how hard it would be.
Posting this to see if anyone is into that sorta thing, maybe we could get some stuff together that can be used together for git without using an external tool!
I also gave the option for people to use my server as a proxy for git, if that's possible (I'm NOT very smart with git.). Would allow for some https server to be hosted and if the code is provided, convert whatever you're sending into normal git behaviour and let you pull/post to git without leaving Picotron (not the best approach but if anyone wants that as something before real git is implemented natively, option is there).

Pico Enigma: An Enigma Machine Implementation.
This only works on desktop since you need to type using a keyboard. The keyboard on the machine is not clickable.
This is an enigma machine simulation I put together that functions like the Model I machine.
You can encrypt messages and play around with it, and there is a radio that can receive a few random messages just to experiment with. The radio always uses today's date as the cipher.
You can quickly apply the cipher for a day by selecting the cipher tab and clicking on any one of them.
This work was made mostly possible by studying this enigma emulator.
And here's a little message using today's (the 24ths) cipher:
A very insecure RSA demo for Picotron.
WARNING: Do not use this to encrypt sensitive documents.
Installation
Option 1:
- Load and run the p64 program. This should download a folder called pml to the desktop.
- Go ahead and open that folder now. You should see
fullpml.luaandpmlsec.lua. - Move
fullpml.luato/appdata/system/util. Movepmlsec.luato/desktop.
Option 2:
- Run these terminal commands:
Usage
Welcome to Gustaw Explode.
My first Pico-8 game. A remake of my first tiny project made in Turbo Pascal in the early nineties (where I couldn't program anything more complex than "if button pressed - add 1 to food. if food >10 then Gustaw explode". I tried to add a little more to my original idea with some levels, menu and animations.
The idea is simple: keep Gustaw alive as long as you can, but don't overdo it! He tends to spontaneously combust. Can you get to the final screen?
🍔 Features:
- caring for your virtual pet
- some music
- bleeps and bloops
- stress-filled gameplay
- gamepad support
- picture of a rat
Feedback and comments most welcome!

Star Hopper
Star Hopper is an arcade shoot-'em-up in the classic vertical style. Pilot your hopper through seven levels of alien attack waves, blast asteroids for power-ups, and face a different boss at the end of every level.
Originally written for the Picocomputer 6502 (https://picocomputer.github.io/), Star Hopper has been rebuilt for PICO-8, with its art, music and enemy patterns carried over to the fantasy console.
Features
- 7 levels, 7 bosses. Each boss has its own attack. Some dive at you, some drop through the screen, and one hunts you along the bottom. Hit the glowing weak spot when it turns yellow.
- 7 enemy types. Zig-zag chains, formations, snipers that dig in and open fire, and chasers that explode when they get close.
