This is a set of objects I made, based off the overworld from the first Dragon Quest/Warrior, learning a lot since I made the LoZ objects. The reason I specifically say Dragon Quest is because I didn't do the shore graphics that were added around bodies of water for the NA release of the game, because it would've been annoying to do, and no matter how I did it when I tried, I couldn't get them to look right. Maybe in the future I'll mess around with it.
So, here they are, for anyone to use. Like last time, I copied the objects pixel-for-pixel, and then brought them into the third dimension somewhat. The way the trees, hills and mountains are, it could be fun to place enemies behind 'em. I'm especially happy at how the bridges turned out.
Also, the short hills aren't improperly aligned; they're 1 pixel higher than the other objects on the bottom in the game's tileset, and that's how I chose to interpret it.
The slimes are there because I ended up with a couple extra unused object spaces made, and didn't want to leave them empty. That, and I like slimes.
Hey All
I added a few more features to the BBS:
If you click on a user's name to view their profile (here's mine), you can now also use the links at the top to view a summary of their posts, levels and files. There's also a yet-to-be-implemented favourites mode that will allow you to view/play another user's voxatron level favourites.
The posts mode is useful for checking up on your own posts. If you want to see which threads have replies in them, view the posts list on your own profile and look for the speech bubble icons on the right, indicating that there are replies to the thread.
I've also added some links to the Voxatron page:
User-made wiki for all things Voxatron. Thanks to everyone who started this off, I think it will become a great resource. It will also become the definitive source on how to use the editor, once I get around to updating it with undocumented details!

Freeze powerup is one of nicest ideas in Voxatron - at least the way it's implemented. It stops rain, snow, lava animation, projectiles, even items about to time out. But it has some issues:
- Freeze stops explosions from the Boom powerup. This is nice, but monsters walking through frozen explosion don't take damage. Meanwhile player walking into frozen projectiles or monsters does take damage.
- monsters can walk through frozen player projectiles without taking damage
- Lava animation can be frozen, but lava itself doesn't freeze and still deals damage. Wouldn't it be cool if it (literally) froze solid ?
Winter War v. 1.1
new storyline:
An anomaly have been detected in the canadian shield, it would be way to dangerous to send a complete army because of the hard condition, so we send our best soldier, soldier Atel.
Briefing:
-Take everything suspect so we can stop the next anomaly ( points ) // sushi & stuff
-Destroy the anomaly ( end the mission )
-Kill the most enemy possible !
What's new:
-Added indication ( to make the mission more clear )
-New leg movements ( the other one was kinda weird )
- Added room 6 & 7
- Other minor fix
Enjoy !
While I'm sure you're probably familiar with much more regarding this area than I, I thought I'd suggest two digital distribution channels that Voxatron may do well in.
-
Indievania.com is currently in Beta, but I'm extremely excited by it. It's looking like it's going to turn into an awesome marketplace for indie games.
- GamersGate.com is a little more mainstream (they distribute retail games as well), so Voxatron may get buried/lost here.
One of the biggest advantages to an exterior system like this is that it would allow buyers to get updates much more reliably, and easily, as they wouldn't need to worry about losing their original email with the download link in it.
Anyway, just some food for thought.

The most advanced level in Voxatron!
Adventures of Voxatron version 5 online now!
Contains 9 shiny & surpriseful rooms!
Work is still in progress.
If any bugs or other annoying things appear, please email me at [email protected].
EDIT:
I've found 2 very critical bugs, which makes you unable to complete the game.
These will be fixed in the upcoming update, Adventures of Voxatron v6.
Sorry,
Soender.
