Hello !

First, congratulation. Less than 2 days after the humble bundle release, 200 000$ have been collected. That's incredible...

Anyway, a suggestion befor the forum gets crowded : will the editor allow animation creation ? (such as the cute scenes in the youtube previews). That would be really cool to animate landscapes of allow cut scenes between levels !

EDIT : reading more carefully the vox.txt file, it seems that I had got an answer already :
"Support for multi-frame voxel objects and monster design is coming in a future update"

Hi,

I see this problem has been encountered on the [Linux build]( https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=252)
I am on a Mac Pro 2.66 xeon processor, 5gb ram, ATI4870 512gfx and running the latest version of Lion. All the keys apart from S work. The computer is at least 5 years old now - but it's fine...runs SCII, TF2 etc, without issue.

I tried running the game on my 1 yr old Macbook Pro (i7 4gbram 330m gfx). It runs a treat.

Very conscious that we're only at Alpha stage, so not moaning - just reporting so you guys are aware of the problem. Let me know if you need any more details of the rig it's on.

I let support on the Humble Bundle know of the problem too but thought I'd pass it onto you guys direct.

All the best.

Welcome to the Wind Quest! Version 1.1!

Story:

Since the old times, your kingdom has been devastated by the wind, hurricanes, and all kind of natural air-related disasters. As you're the next heir in the kingdom, your father asked you to get the legendary "Wind Crystal" to calm and control those lands...

People have been talking about a a mysterious crystal that was seen in a huge fortress with monsters, so with that as your only clue, you arrive at a nearby forest feeling that you're not alone anymore.

Hi! I bought the Voxatron alpha some hours ago and recently got around to trying it out.

It runs, but I hear no audio at all. I'm on x86-64, but with the necessary 32-bit libraries installed.

What mechanism is used to play audio? The binary doesn't seem to link to any audio libraries. Do I need ALSA's OSS compatibility stuff? PulseAudio? (I just use ALSA.)

Thanks in advance, and the game looks really cool. :)

Basically, just a mini-boss level. A test for the editor.

This is my first level. It's nothing special. I did spend some time balancing the difficulty. Hope you like it.

Protect the Apple Store from utter destruction.

Short, but hopefully fun.

This is just a quick question about the map editor, Im making a custom map (Called Wind Quest, you can find it on the BSS Levels :3) and I managed to do some crazy stuff, from timing mobs to making nice platform rooms with tons of challenge.

The question is: Is there any way to change the "start" room? While I know that It always starts with the room 0, I created a new one that I'd love to use as my start, but I dont want to ditch the room 0 I had created before.

Also, awesome job on the editor, its a beast.

Ps, looking forward to see that mob editor part ;) Actually I'd love if its just about generic entities so we can change the player to fit our maps :P

Thanks again,
Elratauru.

Edit; Also..quick one, how can I update my map on the BSS Levels ingame without creating a new forum post?

Hello everyone, I'm new. I've been drawn here by Voxatron, and I will never go back. :)
The game is awesome! But you don't need me to tell you that.

I have a fairly specific question about the custom levels that I've been itching for an answer to: Can I test/play my levels outside of the editor, but without uploading them to the BBS? I'd like to test my levels with the ability to play them just like the main adventure (i.e. having the ability to save/continue). I'd also like to share them more privately with friends before uploading.

Thanks to anybody with some input!

You're going to die. Sorry. Try to fill up your stomach as much as possible first. (Quite laggy)

Hey, uh, I just bought this game on the excellent Humble Indie Bundle... but with no key, and just a executable, how can I get free updates when they are released?

I mean, Humble Indie Bundle usually only hosts the downloads until the next bundle is released, and then they're gone.
Normally Humble Indie Bundle games are redeemable on Steam, which I love, but this game isn't and so I have no Steam key.
Since the game didn't ask for a user account or anything, like Minecraft does, how do I get updates?

Is the executable self-updating or something?

Pressing Right at the BBS Levels screen causes the game to CTD (without error) on Windows 7 64-bit.

Possibly connected to there being a second page of BBS-listed levels?

Just three rooms so far.

The plan is to fine tune what's there and add a few more rooms so look out for the next release.

Hi, I've not seen anything about Voxatron having any networking capabilities. Does it have any?

I know multiplayer would be a lot to ask for as that entails providing a stand lone multiplayser server software, trackers, anti-cheat, etc. and we don't need another Minecrap.

But having a small 2 player co-op (or verses) would be nice to play cross platform with friends and others ala BZFlag hosting. Someone starts up Voxatron, the opponent connects, the map is pushed, the 2 players are synchronized, and then all hell breaks loose.

Eh. It's a pie in the sky request/thought (or I missed the fact that it has it.) I've not picked up my copy yet [ payday isn't until Thursday ].

Thanks, Retro
