FINAL GAME IS HERE: https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=28132

In the game above, the character is gliding in zero-g. They can move left and right using little air jets on the side of the space suit (left and right arrow keys).

I am struggling to make a good sound for this that isn't too grating (you will hear the sound A LOT). I was hoping for a high-pitch hiss; like air escaping a ballon, but having nailed it yet (see above).

"TSSSsss.. TSSSssss..."

Any audio designers know how to achieve this sound?

Here's the best I could come up with!
C#5515
Just that note with a speed of 8 and calling it each frame as long as a button is being pressed.
It's not perfect but I do think it's easier on the ears than the sfx you're currently using. :)

By the way I love the look of your game!

Thanks for taking a crack at it, but is that right TRASEVOL? Is it supposed to sound like a high pitched beep?

Well yeah, because it's not loud at all and when you do play it continuously, it doesn't really sound like a beep anymore. But it's definitely more harmonic than just noise, which may be a good or a bad thing, depending on what you want. :)

Very cool, thanks!

this looks and feels great so far!!

I got 657 meters! Also I think the sound you're already using is great, the only thing I'd do is turn it down to the minimum volume.

Oh hey, you should check out the final version of the game, here:
