Many years ago dragons lost their kingdom to the vampires. Now you, young dragon prince, decided to get your lands back. But proceed with caushen, because the Lord of Vampires is already waiting for you.
It’s my first PICO-8 game, made following this tutorial by LazyDevs. It was made in two months or so but development was abandoned for more than a year. But it's finished now! The duration of the clear walkthrough is less than 3 minutes, so it’s pretty short.
(also don't use it for learning code it's a spaghettis mess haha)

STOREBROR & LILLEBROR
A co-op action platformer for PICO-8
Hi everyone!
I’ve been working on a new PICO-8 game called Storebror & Lillebror — Danish for Big Brother & Little Brother.
It is an action platformer that can be played alone or in 2-player co-op. The two brothers have very different abilities, so you can choose the character that fits your playstyle, or combine their powers with a friend.
The game currently has 8 levels, including moon stages with lower gravity, transforming robots, shadow ninjas, lava, slopes, animated environments, and a final confrontation with the supreme shadow warrior Natskygge.
LILLEBROR
Lillebror is quick and has access to fire, ice, and defensive abilities.
SEASON RUNNERS is a jump'n'run that changes with the calendar: the world you play depends on today's date. Carnival in February, a spring meadow at Easter, the beach in summer, a ghost night in October, snow and Christmas in December – and fireworks at New Year.
FEATURES
- 8 seasonal worlds, picked automatically by date – each with its own character, colours, music, collectibles and hazards
- Speed levels every 1000 points – the run gets faster and harder
- Lava blocks, impacts from above, skulls & poison – and lightning that flips your running direction
- Garages: touch the door and drive one of 14 vehicles (car, hypercar, motorbike, jet ski, snowboard, reindeer sled ...) over ramps for 10-15 seconds
PLAYMAKE DEMO — A pocket music studio
Hey everyone! I made PLAYMAKE, a small music maker for PICO-8 with four tracks, soft sounds, and a piano roll you can use with buttons or a mouse.
I wanted something approachable for sketching melodies and building little songs—especially on handhelds where a mouse isn’t available. The sounds lean toward warm and gentle, with a cassette-inspired interface to match. Oh, and you can import the songs you make and use in your own Pico-8 games!
What can you make?
Each of the four tracks can use any of these ten voices:
Keys · Bass · Drums · Flute · Synth · Bells · Pluck · Organ · Mallet · Guitar
Here is my first finished pico-8 game!
I made it for Hack Club's Terra program.
-- p i c o f a l l --
A game about falling through a cave.
- Use Z/X to swap direction or the Arrows to move left/right.
- Don't touch the walls.
- You heal in between each level.
- Try to rack up as much score as possible!
(your score does not save, I didn't bother with that for now but I might add it later)
I would appreciate any feedback (especially with sound, this was my first time ever using the sfx tab), I have used pico-8 before but I'd like to improve at using it!
Story
The cats have taken over! They're everywhere, in every facet of life. In our homes, in our media, in our dreams! The only place yet to feel the cats adorable wrath is the secluded wizards in deepest Romania. In an attempt to prevent this catpocalypse from reaching them, the wizards have grabbed their flying surfboards and taken to the skies to defend their home!

Gameplay
You must battle through waves of varied cats, clearing as many rounds as possible to increase your score. If you get far enough you might even encounter a boss or two...
You inherit drowned land behind a sea dike. Raise dikes, dig canals and build windmill chains to pump it dry, basin by basin, like the mills of Kinderdijk. Your workers carry out every order and haul every load of soil and wood through your towns, so distance and town placement are part of the puzzle.
This was motivated by a vacation in the Netherlands that left me impressed by the tenaciousness of these people fighting the sea and the practicality of them all. And of course of the water pumping windmill!
How it works

Keep It Up Soph

Happy birthday my love!
Date: August 21, 2026.
i made this game for my girlfriend sophia! it was the first of our birthdays as a couple, so i wanted to build her something special.
this game was completed back in august, but i wanted to polish the program up a bit before releasing it to the public.
sophia loves pick-up-and-play games, so i designed this game to be simple and fun! not to be super difficult by any means.
i hope you can enjoy it as much as we do! :)
inspiration:
celeste: character sprite movement design, and the dashing functionality.
flappy bird: simple, high-score-based fun.
pong: coordinated movement with hitting a ball.

Something that has always bothered me from since when I started programming in PICO-8 was the default control scheme. I thought it was time for me to address the elephant in the room. Why is the control scheme so unintuitive to unfamiliar users (at least to me)?
These controls feel backward and chaotic to me. Why are the arrows on the right side of my keyboard and X/O on the left side? In my life, I have never seen a console before where it is like that. And then there's more. Why are the controls for player 1 closer to the right and the controls for player 2 closer to the left? Why are the player 2's controls also backward? And why is it ESDF instead of the WASD that has been established forever?
Yet the layout on consoles (physical or virtual) are perfectly normal?
I know this is not something that is getting unilaterally changed, but at least let me change it for myself. I frequently have to use the Education Edition for a reason. I am able to use keyconfig here, but as soon as I exit the console, my control binding gets reverted to the default.

Demake of my own game "Red Ball HD: Platforms"
It was originally developed for J2ME mobile phones around 2009 and this version shares the same maps as the original.
In 2012 it was remade as a Windows Phone game with nice 3D graphics and new levels.
The 3D version is currently available for free on:
Take control of the Red Ball in this addictive platformer game!
Simple, one-button jumping controls, anyone can pick up and play.
Mining with timing! Aim your hook to the treasure and try to rack up a high score!
Game by Alvie (me!)
Music by azulbit
CONTROLS: Arrow keys to navigate the menu, Z to start and select options in the menu, X to throw your hook.
z is O, x is X.
GOAL: Rack up points by pulling in treasure to progress into deeper levels with more riches!
In the game, the hook will swing from side to side. Press X to launch your hook based on where the hook is currently swinging. Try to aim your hook at treasure like gold, diamonds and rubies, while avoiding junk like rocks, boulders and bones!
This is a demake of an old flash game "Goldminer" made by GameRival in 2003. This project aims to recreate that game's mechanics and feel from the ground up in Pico-8.

Whiskers the alley cat has had enough. Five gangs have taken over River City, and the only thing standing in their way is one tabby on a red motorcycle.
River Kitty Ransom is a beat-’em-up tribute to the NES classic River City Ransom, rebuilt with all-new characters and art. Ride through 5 stages, bust up rat punks and bulldog bruisers, grab bats, chains and pipes off the street, and spend your loot at the corner store between fights.
Controls (same layout as River City Ransom)
Arrows: move (up/down moves along the street)
Double-tap left/right: run
Z / O: punch, pick up items, swing weapons
X: bike ram, throw held items
Z + X together: jump (bike hop); press Z or X in the air for a jump attack

In The Impossible Reversal Peter D. McDonald writes "scores are nonrepresentational stories and indistinct monuments to the process of play". Sprout plays with scores that are articulated beyond a single number. What if the monuments to play expressed artistry as well as mastery?
Shout out to droqen's writing and recent games on oblique repetition and jseakle's Construct and Then Express Yourself.
p.s. I would love to see your trees (:
