The game is awesome! But you don't need me to tell you that.
I have a fairly specific question about the custom levels that I've been itching for an answer to: Can I test/play my levels outside of the editor, but without uploading them to the BBS? I'd like to test my levels with the ability to play them just like the main adventure (i.e. having the ability to save/continue). I'd also like to share them more privately with friends before uploading.

Hey, uh, I just bought this game on the excellent Humble Indie Bundle... but with no key, and just a executable, how can I get free updates when they are released?
I mean, Humble Indie Bundle usually only hosts the downloads until the next bundle is released, and then they're gone.
Normally Humble Indie Bundle games are redeemable on Steam, which I love, but this game isn't and so I have no Steam key.
Since the game didn't ask for a user account or anything, like Minecraft does, how do I get updates?
Is the executable self-updating or something?

Pressing Right at the BBS Levels screen causes the game to CTD (without error) on Windows 7 64-bit.
Possibly connected to there being a second page of BBS-listed levels?

Just three rooms so far.
The plan is to fine tune what's there and add a few more rooms so look out for the next release.

Hi, I've not seen anything about Voxatron having any networking capabilities. Does it have any?
I know multiplayer would be a lot to ask for as that entails providing a stand lone multiplayser server software, trackers, anti-cheat, etc. and we don't need another Minecrap.
But having a small 2 player co-op (or verses) would be nice to play cross platform with friends and others ala BZFlag hosting. Someone starts up Voxatron, the opponent connects, the map is pushed, the 2 players are synchronized, and then all hell breaks loose.
Eh. It's a pie in the sky request/thought (or I missed the fact that it has it.) I've not picked up my copy yet [ payday isn't until Thursday ].

Hello there,
I just got Voxatron after following it loosely for a couple of months.
Nice work and congratulations! Thanks for such a neat (albeit currently small and infuriatingly difficult) game.
I do, however have a question:
Why is there a limit to the area of the screen in which Voxatron can draw the world? It'd be so much cooler, in my humble opinion, if the world edges extended to the edge of the screen where applicable.
Does my explanation make sense?

Hi, just tried out the game.
Small issue: in the main menu I can't use the mouse or go up to reach the bottom menu.
Big issue: with keys I can't redirect fire without moving in the corresponding redirection first (which gets me killed) • with the mouse I don't know where I'm firing cause there's no cross-hair.
Level editor seems complicated, would appreciate a tutorial.
P.S. it's the design that attracted me to this game, all is in the size of the blocks, I think.

Welcome to the Wind Quest!
Story:
Since the old times, your kingdom has been devastated by the wind, hurricanes, and all kind of natural air-related disasters. As you're the next heir in the kingdom, your father asked you to get the legendary "Wind Crystal" to calm and control those lands...
People have been talking about a a mysterious crystal that was seen in a huge fortress with monsters, so with that as your only clue, you arrive at a nearby forest feeling that you're not alone anymore.
Note from the author:
This is a level inspired by the Zelda Franchise, its a overworld-dungeon-boss style of map, It was released on Halloween 2011 so It may be a little basic for now, I plan to update it later with more rooms, story and challenges. Please enjoy it for now :)!

I just bought the alpha (Humble Voxatron Debut) and I can't get any sounds to work.
Oddly, I see sound activity in the sound mixer but can't actually hear anything.
Edit: Problem solved and lesson learned: drivers from windows update don't actually work.

Can you add a option to expand the view clipping region. My computer is fast enough and I'd like to play on a larger playing board.

If you jump onto a growing column, sometimes it'll keep growing, but you'll get stuck in the place where you landed. It's possible to get out, but not to jump up.

Congratulations on a great turnout for your first commercial indev-game! I took some time to play through the intro-levels of Voxatron and am very impressed with both the quality of the game and the customized price-tag.
However, I wanted to list two suggestions that hopefully can be implemented in the near future:
- Mouse cursor so I know where I am shooting.
- Multiplayer (probably mentioned a lot of times already :P)

My original plan was to pay $1.00 for this game and then boost it when it's released from alpha (Since I despise paying for games that get stuck in pre-release with minimal content being added. Looking at you, Minecraft and Terraria). Once I got into Amazon I went back to the Humble page to change the setting to all of the money going towards Voxatron and forgot it resets the price to $29.99. So I just paid $30 bucks for a game that I finished in an hour. Since I know that refunds do not happen, I hope the massive amount of money I just gave you (In respect to time invested on my part towards completing it) helps to fuel this into a game that is open ended and refined enough so I can sink in plenty of hours later. Played great, I loved adventure and the really cool monsters, would love to see multiplayer and a hundred times more content.
