The world only moves when Hot Duck moves! Help her retrieve her Heart-Ketchup in 9 short levels!
For anyone who loved (or ironically enjoyed) the original Hot Duck, it's HotDuck Engine!
I made this so I can make a sequel to Hot Duck but for now enjoy this version of the original game with slightly cleaner code.
Ideally it will also make it easier for anyone else to make levels if they want to, although I'd like to make the process even more streamlined.
I'll have to think more about where to indicate that Hot Duck is trans and uses she/her pronouns. I think restricting the screen size is the right move for everything else though.
It's still pretty amateur code but I did my best.

POSSIBLE EPILEPSY WARNING FOR SLASHING ANIMATION. I WILL WORK ON THAT AS SOON AS AM ABLE.
This game is a work in progress. Basically a twin-stick shooter but you have a sword instead of a gun. Zombies with green dots restore health when hit.
I'm honestly not sure what to add next. I'm really happy with the general feel of this gameplay, though.
All suggestions welcome! (But please understand if my code is bad lol)
----CONTROLS----
ESDF to move
Mouse to aim
Click to slash
Thanks to anyone who plays!

Made in one day based on the GMTK 2021 prompt.
I wasn't able to do the actual jam in time because of prior engagements but I wanted to make something. Enjoy!
I took some of the code from https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?tid=3948 so its not wholly original. Thanks to ztiromoritz.

Made in a couple hours while watching the Power Up With Pride speedrun charity marathon raising money for The Trevor Project.
The community segment was a virtual group paint-along with Bob Ross while streamer TokyoScarab painted along on Mario Paint. I wanted to do my original painting on Pico-8 but I didn't have enough control over the brush. That's why I made this application! I do want to improve it because a lot of it is messy, but I'm happy with it so far and here's an image of the first painting I did with it:

(I meant to make it the label image but I stupidly forgot to do that before closing Pico-8. I do want to figure out how to let people save paintings in progress, though!)
Current Build!
I've added music and sound effects!
This is working a lot more how I want it to. Still want to clean some things up and I'll need to get some playtesting in order to nail down a lot of the numbers, but this is a lot more like what I'm hoping the game to be.
Gather fuel before you run out! Fuel drains over time plus rushing uses even more fuel!
Arrow keys to move
X to "rush"
If you do try the game:
How does moving feel?
Did you use the Rush mechanic much? Did the cost feel too much or too little?
Was the fuel a good motivator and did it seem too harsh or too forgiving?
Other thoughts?
old builds:

I just realized I didn't upload this project from early August!
Controls: Arrow Keys, ('z' or 'c' to select on the Menu)
In the tradition of so many "collect items while something chases you' games, I present Clipping. In this game, you won't see what is closing in. Instead, the screen shrinks as something get closer.
Clipping was developed for the LOWREZJAM2020. Please enjoy my first ever horror game!

Left Turn is a game, a true story, a glimpse of a better reality.
My entry for the Post-Police Design Challenge.

Controls:
left and right arrows: move
up and down arrows: scroll through inventory
x: peck or place block
z: (when on the ground) start flying; (when in the air) descend
This is a pet project I want to eventually clean up and take further. The limited control input restricted a lot of things for now and overall it is very limited right now. Nonetheless, I hope some of y'all get some fun out of it!
"Babybot learns to fly! With no control over WHEN she flies, you have to focus on WHAT she does when she gets in the air!"
This is the game I've made and am submitting for the 2020 Game Maker's Tool Kit Game Jam! It's my first jam and I've had a lot of fun developing this game in just two days time!I hope folks enjoy my take on the theme: Out of Control.
