Made in one day based on the GMTK 2021 prompt.

I wasn't able to do the actual jam in time because of prior engagements but I wanted to make something. Enjoy!

This is a BBB game.

I created this terrible mod because my impulse control isn't great. You can jump infinitely because bees can fly and you die if the Bee Movie Script catches you.

Dedicated to the staff of Power Up With Pride.

Made in a couple hours while watching the Power Up With Pride speedrun charity marathon raising money for The Trevor Project.

The community segment was a virtual group paint-along with Bob Ross while streamer TokyoScarab painted along on Mario Paint. I wanted to do my original painting on Pico-8 but I didn't have enough control over the brush. That's why I made this application! I do want to improve it because a lot of it is messy, but I'm happy with it so far and here's an image of the first painting I did with it:

(I meant to make it the label image but I stupidly forgot to do that before closing Pico-8. I do want to figure out how to let people save paintings in progress, though!)

I've added music and sound effects!

This is working a lot more how I want it to. Still want to clean some things up and I'll need to get some playtesting in order to nail down a lot of the numbers, but this is a lot more like what I'm hoping the game to be.

Gather fuel before you run out! Fuel drains over time plus rushing uses even more fuel!

How does moving feel?
Did you use the Rush mechanic much? Did the cost feel too much or too little?
Was the fuel a good motivator and did it seem too harsh or too forgiving?

Ok I actually went in and cleaned up a lot of the messy code! Also my girlfriend helped me understand the bitwise and vector stuff I've been struggling with. This plays pretty similar to the build I posted a few hours ago, but still needs a lot of tweaking!

I made this game on stream in a 2-hour time limit (ok I made a few tweaks past the time limit but not more than five minutes after).
It needs a lot of tweaks to be actually fun but it technically exists.
One viewer called it "absolutely a game!"

I just realized I didn't upload this project from early August!

In the tradition of so many "collect items while something chases you' games, I present Clipping. In this game, you won't see what is closing in. Instead, the screen shrinks as something get closer.

Controls:
left and right arrows: move
up and down arrows: scroll through inventory
x: peck or place block
z: (when on the ground) start flying; (when in the air) descend

This is a pet project I want to eventually clean up and take further. The limited control input restricted a lot of things for now and overall it is very limited right now. Nonetheless, I hope some of y'all get some fun out of it!

This is my first game ever. I've only been using pico-8 for a few days. I have some games in the works that have more depth. This was just a stray idea to make the standard 'eat the small' game but with the character shrinking instead of growing. Hope you enjoy if you try it! <3
