I just came across Pico-8, did a few tutorials last weekend, and here's my first cart-- a spaceship flying over an endless 2D parallax scrolling background (with more layers that get added in over time).
The whole experience was a lot of fun for someone who rarely writes software-- just poking around within the tool and trying things out. Thank you to everyone who developed Pico-8 and posted tutorials and tips!
I didn't plan to share anything because this isn't a "game" and I expect the code has all sorts of ugly parts I should clean up. But I saw a talk about how part of the concept is just encouraging sharing in any form. So why not... feedback welcome.
p.s. thanks to @Gruber for the music shared in the Pico-8 Tunes #1 cart.

This is a nice cart! I wonder if the color change could have more of a transition (a challenge for you if you want!).
If you wanted to make a game out of it, the only thing to add would be interactions with the environment so that the player can make decisions. A simple idea would be to manage fuel: use it when accelerating, earn it with pickups on some planets. Then the mecanics combine naturally: black holes acceleration can help you reach the next fuel!
But that’s just an idea. This cart is fine as is!

Great music and I liked the black holes mechanic. This game might benefit from gradual progression, so that every 30-60 seconds something new appears, or something changes.

I think if you wanted to, you could make a game out of this! Very nice. Keep it up.

This is so cute and lovely! I love the way the visual elements come in as the music builds.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone. I think I will add some animations (and perhaps some game play). This has already inspired me to try out something else though...

This is super cool! I love the black holes and all the fun visual details in this (and of course the @Gruber music!). Maybe it's not a "game", but I'd still fire it up just to fly around awhile!
