Noelle (previously titled Noeleste) is a short holiday-themed mod for Celeste Classic that adds new mechanics, levels, locations, and a bunch of penguins!

v2.0 release notes: It's about time I show some love to this mod. This is a very old project, so to get in the festive mood I've polished up the mod to better fit my current level design and visual standards. Several levels have been completely redone, and overall I'm much happier with the mod now. Also a rename, because there's too many "-leste" mods already.
This is very nice, I like the new mechanics and original ideas, which feel rather refreshing whenever you discover a new one, with the summit rocket being a funny and original idea to transition into the low gravity zone, which in itself is a completely new idea from all of the mods I've seen, and it was a nice reference to Adelie, which I enjoyed too.
I liked this a lot more than most. It provided the same amount of mechanics as others, but they felt way more fresh than "I recolored 5 sprites now gimme likes111!!!1"
@Rimuru - Hey, sorry you're having trouble. The first level can be done by simply walljumping off of the ice, there's a spot without spikes you can dash to.
As for the new mechanics, those are introduced in later levels. I've designed the levels so that (hopefully) once you encounter the new mechanics you'll quickly learn how they work.
I'm trying to figure out the new mechanics, does it have to do with ice color? Also I am confused what is causing some mechanics, is it just general game mechanics or are certain blocks making it possible?
The new mechanics are: green ice is sticky, red ice is super fast sliding.
Hey @taco360. I went onto ArcadePreHAcks and I saw that your game has been hacked so that you can activate godmode so you cant die, and infinite double jumps. I just wanted to say that in case you did not want your game to be hacked and easily exploited. Much love, Rimuru.
@taco360 if you know anyone else who has made a Classic Celeste mods or other Pico-8 games then tell them to contact ArcadePreHacks because their Celeste mods or game also maybe be on there as well. But if you can't talk to the other makers of Classic Celeste mods or other Pico-8 game makers then I will let them know.
@Vappy you need a well timed up+left dash at the exit

@DankusItch you can dash through the small gap between the middle object and the topleft objects, and then doing a frame perfect jump from spiked the other side
@RayEz im aware of that, this is just a much easier strat. Also none of that is frame perfect as the walljump is quite large

Very good mod, I really enjoyed the new mechanics although the ice spam got a bit annoying in 900m
Looks: 7/10 looks great although i feel like i have seen that maddie sprite before, did you use someone elses asset?
level design: 8/10 great levels, there were a few things i would change, like all the ice in 900m.
challenge: 10/10 others might disagree with me but I really enjoyed the challenge great job

Challange: snowspace with minimum balloons (2)
No dash is something alot of mods use however i have never seen a mod use balloons as a way to give a dash... so naturally me being a speedrunner i decided to skip as many balloons as i could
Difficulty: 15/10 the only level to talk about is 9900m because i couldn't figure out how to skip the balloon in 9800m and 9700m is just a simple spike jump. so for 9900m what i did was i dashed through a small alcove between the spikes (using a balloon) and did an almost frame perfect spike jump to win GG
Overall 9/10 wonderful mod however the ice got a bit annoying at times
I'm reading a bunch of you talk about doing a frame-perfect spike jump through a small gap in 9900m, but there's a much easier way to do it.
Jump up to the left and then collect the balloon to regain a dash and then go back to the platform, After that you can wait until another balloon spawns and then jump up again and dash through the small gap WHILE collecting the new balloon, that way you get ANOTHER dash to use, and thus no frame-perfect spike jump required.
Hope that helps anyone trying that way
Was the eventual product that the tech demo turned into Foreverred, or is it still being worked on?
@NOOBSKINSPAMMER I was originally going to take the mechanics from this mod and use them in a space-themed mod called Starleste, but the project never really went anywhere. Still haven't updated the cart to remove the tech demo notice lol
Update is great! The nostalgia hit was crazy, this was the first mod I ever played, because penguin told me to. It's been too long 🥲
I like the visual revamp tho, looks so much cleaner
