Tried to make this pretty faithful to the original although I think it is too easy. Per the original there are two alien deployment patterns that alternate on levels. The large yellow UFO's also deploy as in the original. And the point value for the UFO's changes depending on the shot number you are on. Hint: 16th shot for max value.

Who me ? :) Thanks ... I think I just have a lot of patience. Persistence. And ... obsession. Yes I really can get obsessed with things.
I'm playing your game proper now. Seems a bit faster than the original for main UFO and descending UFO. Here it is:

Just bumped you up to two stars in my list of personal favorite carts now, z80jim. Congrats !

That's ... not good at all ?
I just clicked it from here, Firefox. Works.
Trying Opera. Works.
Trying Google Chrome. Works.
Could you please try again ? I have that clicking your icon does indeed bring up your game page at:
https://www.lexaloffle.com/bbs/?pid=67637
Clicking the icon does NOT just bring up and let you play the game without anything else. I want the click to go to the author's page where I can read comments, see updates, and THEN play the game if I so choose.
Please let me know if clicking your icon does not in fact bring up the page aforementioned above.
Thanks !

Odear ... so it doesn't work on the Macintosh w Safari ?
I've always relied on TUMBLR for free websites. I suppose I could put it on Writer's Cafe but that'd be chock full of ads.
Chris suggested MySpace but I really don't like the way they tick.
It does work in Chrome then. Let me add something to the notes there.

Interesting, that is actually exactly how it is supposed to appear, if there were no images.
I'm using the <img> tag so I don't know any other way to do it.
I have noticed that TUMBLR gets all bent out of shape if you try to use <BR> or carriage-returns in your HTML. Let me see if there's a different way to present images in HTML and that might fix it right there.
also, if you move your mouse over that pink rectangle, does any text appear in hover-over ?

Got a bad idea I'm not going to solve this and it's something to do with TUMBLR, not my code. What I need is an HTML substitute for <IMG SRC=image.png> which does work fine here.
I tried one method of alternatively displaying an image. Definitely did not work.
<div style="background-image:url(image.png);"></div>
Are there any others ?

Well dangit, thanks for checking ... running out of options here.
I'm curious. Let's try this.

Save that as a .HTM, open it as a file in SAFARI and let me know please if it displays anything.
If it DOES display, that is you see my avatar, then the fault lies in TUMBLR and I may not have a fix for it. All I can do is put text (may not run in Safari).

Well that's bad news then. That means ... Well, let's try this. I'm going to change my website to have JUST that code.
It may show up rather large, that's the default image handler in TUMBLR.

Please try the site again and let me know if you see anything.

That's good then !
That's all it was supposed to do.
I'm downloading SAFARI here. I'm told it's an old version and Apple stopped talking to Microsoft back in 2012, nonetheless I suspect my original page will also not appear in the SAFARI I'm downloading.
It's up to me now I think to get that page to appear in all browsers.
Thanks for your help, z80jim. If I get stuck, I will definitely call on you as you'll be much better navigating Safari than I will as I never have.

Houston we have liftoff !
Okay I was afraid of one or two things. One that Safari wouldn't run or two that my page would appear perfectly.
My page appears with a bunch of tiny ? marks so - YAHOO ! Going to heat up a fresh cup of coffee and take a microscope to it and find out what's going on - to find and make it work.
I'll keep you informed, Jim. Thanks again for your help !

... my findings:
Definitely not appearing. Changing some unnecessary tabulation. There !
Okay, I have it appearing in this version of SAFARI. Does it appear in YOUR Safari now ?
https://dw-817-blog.tumblr.com/
If the boxes do appear, please check HOVER to see that those two-special characters are appearing. A star before the number of and a game controller before the author's name.

Well, let's see ... I am using Safari 5.1.7.
Just tested. Youtube says my version of Safari is too old and won't load their site at all.
Oops, your web browser is no longer supported.
Do you think I can find a more advanced version of Safari for Windows ?
Puzzling that the Safari I have here displays the page perfectly (and I'm not logged in, I made sure of that). Yet doesn't appear correctly on yours. Wonder if SAFARI has it out for TUMBLR. :D
