Save small town Ozark!

Play as ArgentBot v2.02, an old rusty excavation automaton who's the only hope for the small rural town of Ozark!
After Harold Pechengsky vanished deep underground, the town's last few residents jumped ship. Now Ozark is in danger of collapse! Dig deeper and deeper and bring back riches to rescue Harold and save the town! Buy, sell, recharge, and repair your way to mineral mastery!
Inspired by Schulles' "Utopian Mining". Play it on Armor Games!

Quick Guide

Without energy, you can't mine and harvest minerals! Make sure to recharge often at the power plant.
The deeper you go, the more energy it takes to mine, so make sure to upgrade your battery consistently.

If you dig too deep, the heat will start to destroy you! Low integrity will cause you to move slower so if you take damage, heal up quickly at the Garage to the far left to maintain peak efficiency.

Sell your ores at the shop after you fill up your case. You can disable/select which ores to sell as well.

-Drill - Move and mine faster
-Chassis - Store more ores and take less damage
-Battery - Recharge less often
-Coolant - Dive deeper to find better and more valuable minerals

  • Arrow Keys to Move
  • Z/C to Interact
  • X to quit

Hold X while mining for precise and efficient movement!

-Smoother Motion
-Optimized CPU time

I LOVE these kinds of games!
I really have no idea why!

Hey, what is this place for?

P#61884 2019-02-14 19:00

Say, what's the original game anyway?
What started this genre?
And also:

"Oh, I'm sorry. Were you expecting an ore-mining robot? Well too bad, because I'm a dirt eating robot."

That house is just for decor. Its supposed to be Uncle Harold's home that Roy inherited.
Everyone who plays it asks that question too. :)

Hey! Cool game!

I got a bug where I just dug down right at the spawning point until it killed me. Then, it respawned me and I had no control over the robot, and it made t go down to, once again, die from going too deep. It just keeps on doing this cycle.

Fixed the bug! Enjoy!

This is excellent! I'd never played Utopian Mining (though I tried it after reading the description here), but this reminds me of Miner Dig Deep on Xbox 360. This was an enjoyable 135 minutes to finish it, so thanks for that! :-)

  • add a save option, preferably just an autosave; my first playthrough was cut short and I was a little sad to have to start from the beginning again, although I like this style of game and this was so well done that my sadness didn't last long!
  • I didn't realize holding "x" would make for precise movement until I came here after finishing the game. Did I just miss that hint in the game? If not, maybe add one.
  • Maybe use one of the buttons to toggle a hide/show of the info display. Currently it mostly covers the far right column so you have to dig blind there.
  • I also thought the building with the gear would do something. The gear made me think it was either settings for the game (like a "save"), or some kind of additional upgrade options for the robot. Either way, I just figured the game wasn't 100% finished and something would be added there later. Maybe getting rid of the gear and putting Harold's name on a sign there instead would lessen the confusion. ;-)

Congrats on an awesome game!

For what it's worth, it looks and plays great on the GameShell, and feels like a proper handheld game. I just received mine a week ago, and this was the first game I spent so much time with in one sitting.

ooh i like the way you changed the sight/detection/whateverYouWantToCallIt feature when you dig

too much speed and you can't talk to ppl (you lose sync)

Superb game, @AdmiralEnto ! Wish it had a save game option. Nonetheless, gold star production !
