Alpha Strike is a shoot-em-up in the classic NES style. Shoot your way through 5 levels, destroy everything that moves and save the world from danger!
D-pad / arrows - movement
(X) / X - shoot bullets
Every 10000 points net you an extra life.
Collect powerups to enhance your weapon.
When you die, you lose your weapon.
When you get a game over, you can use one of the 2 continues.
Use only if you want to ruin your fun!

having an action game where sprites are locked on a grid is quite the deterrent for me. I don't suffer from epilepsy but I find it quite painful.
also there's a bug where the ship disappears at times.
nicely done otherwise, 60hz and pixel precision and I would dig it!
There's quite a visible evolution if we compare this game with your previous ones. It looks good, although it's just another shoot 'em up from the many we have here in PICO-8, but I like it and it's fun! What I don't like is the ship's movement and the gameplay transition, the land pieces approach really slow and that makes me mad.

I am building the same little idea but I aim to do it without the grid (here's current pre pre pre alpha status to get, if you find anything useful, ideas):
