that's fantastic!

This is a clever game in the way it makes you stack blocks without hitting the Lemmings. I enjoyed some of the puzzles where you have to not allow the Lemming to walk of the left side as this changed my strategy for placing blocks. The limit to how far they can fall without dying is also interesting for gameplay. It helps that I'm also a huge fan of the actual Lemmings games. Having to get the timing on placing blocks was a little annoying but not too bad; it would be easier if they fell instantly.

There were some issues as well. I noticed you can hit [X] to restart the level before the game finishes the death animation to avoid losing a life, but this doesn't work with falling damage, which just feels silly and wrong.

Overall, it's a fun game with decent puzzles, but it's very rough around the edges. Oh yeah, and the graphics are fantastic. Unfortunately I can't hear the music but that's probably my browser.

EDIT: This game was less annoying when I realized there are extra lives. Also the sound works fine in Chrome. I like the music, it's a little strange but it's fun. uh. It's quirky. :P

Thanks for your honest feedback!

Yes, the behaviour of [X] is very loose. It is ment for restart if the lemming gets stuck and not primarily to escape during fall/death but I kept it because the game is quite difficult already. It's up to you to use it or not. I could make it take one life per restart though :)

There is a major issue concerning level design because of the limitation that tetris bricks always come from above and always travel in a straigh line down. This makes more complex levels impossible and results in similar challenges for each level. I tried to avoid that as much as I could, also by increasing max-fall-height by one compared to the wip version which allows mechanics like in level 3. There would be more possibilities with scripted level objects like elevators, teleports, one-way-doors, conveyor belts ...

Extra lifes... yes .. see description :)

Well, I understand this was submitted as 'completed' and I enjoyed it. It's also difficult enough as-is. xD
I'd love to see a sequel where the blocks are falling and can be steered more like how they are in Tetris, because this would allow for different shaped levels... The real issue with this version is the limited real-estate (There's not enough space on-screen for it to be worth it). The way I see it, there's 2 solutions: Find a way to make smaller tiles to fit more on the screen in PICO-8, or remake this game using a different tool.

Oh ... yes... I've made it already in several languages and platforms. As you may have read in the game intro, the first version was made in 1996 in pure assembler and mode 13h (320x200x256). I've also made some 3D versions, two with a custom engine and one in Unity. And of course there is also a Flash version. Pico-8 is my favorite so far and it's the only one I've released.

I was thinking of a 320x200 version in OpenGL now... like Pico-8 but bigger screen and 256 colors.

Anyways... this was a fun project and I'm glad Lemmtris is finally released in some form :)

Very nice and funny concept.

Woah, that music is amazing

I really enjoy this game but it is SO hard!

Brilliant concept combining lemmings and tetris, love it. It's hard but in an oldskool way. Part of me wants the ship to move a bit quicker when you've dropped a block or progress to save when you've passed a board, but then I tell myself I need to harden up, LOL. Games used to be hard, and unforgiving!

Loving the graphics and music as well, and need to dig into your code to see how your doing that left-right bouncing Lemtris on the title - looks cool.

If you think this is hard, try my Jetpack demake or Rambo :)

Man I love this little cart! Really cool mix up of two gaming ideas, really pleasant and awesome visuals and design, and cool music on top of it all. just a seriously well made little project, I only wish there was more of it to enjoy now XD
great work on this one, excellent stuff!

This game is just marvelous ! I'm no good at Tetris but I love how you rescue the little green-haired guy and get him to where he needs to go to get to
