Cactus blocks are falling for some reason. You, a little frog named frog, have to jump and dodge out of their way. Set them up in lines in order to clear them off of your land.
-Pull them with your tongue while they're green and falling.
-Turn them into dust once they're dry, yellow, and set on the ground.
Just be careful using that tongue of yours. Getting squished is easier than you think.

-Raise your acrobatics game by upgrading your jump height and tongue length every time you clear 3 lines.
-Collect all the eyes and uncover the mystery.

This is a creative reimagining of Tetris. It also has a Spelunky feel to it where carelessness can be one's worst enemy. I like the amount of polish you put into this game. Well done!
@noppa now you can swap controls on the title screen if you press (O) and UP at the same time, (there should be a sound confirming thigs)
I got 22lines and then killed my self with a 1x1 falling on me... A+, perfect 10 or whatever! not only is it unique it's also fun gg! Also love the music and the blog polish : )

Awesome game, very well done. Lovely little animations, tight controls and cool plot, plays very nice. Hats off.
Ok, so i read all the text, and my guess is that for years the illuminati will just start stirring up trouble in the desert. the frogs will randomly choose someone to go out and protect everyone else each time it happens, with a lot of training happening beforehand. there's still some stuff I don't get, like if this keeps happening why does one quote express confusion about the cactus? also whats the deal with the other green boi (member of the same community?) and the illuminati also stopping cactus? however, based upon the illuminatis ability to control time, it could be explained how frogs who originally are confused about the cacti and the ones who talk about the previous generations. also as this goes on, all 3 characters each seem like they shifting more and more towards illuminati, with the second one having that big eye, and the third one being illuminati.
This is pretty slick for a Pico-8 puzzler, nice job!
If you're interested, I made a little mod for it that improves the title logo. A while ago I was working on an image compression system for storing logos and I really liked the logo for this game, so I made a higher-res version of it based on the out-of-game artwork. The decompression function only takes 74 tokens, the data string takes a few percent of compressed file capacity, and no spritesheet space is used. I just changed the line in tab 1 that draws the logo, and added a tab called "logo" with the decompression function and data string.
Simple gameplay but incredibly fun! Haven't been able to collect all the eyes yet because of my natural talent for getting squished, but I will keep trying. :) I love the little frog sprite, but I imagine her tongue gets quite sore from licking all those cacti! :P I also like the quotes and the accompanying angel frog that appear every time you die, haha.
I think I broke something. I got five eyes, unlocked Simon, unlocked five eyes as Simon, opened the door, and...the game crashed. Restarted, and now I've permanently got five eyes, plus two new characters: a pyramid-eye, and...a yellow cactus block. But if I try to play the yellow cactus block, the game crashes.
Fun, though!

After i die, i always read messages. but for first time. i see messages have eye emoji. it scared me lol
