Mate in 1-2-3 vol.1

each level is a mate in 1, a mate in 2, and a mate in 3.
50 levels for a total of 150 puzzles.

These puzzles were collected from the lichess api. This is easier than manually pulling them from books, but unfortunately lichess only provides the pgn, not the fen. So there is still a tedious step. But I should be able to make more chess puzzlers a lot faster than before. @toadofsky had talked about getting live lichess puzzle updates and playing in real time. I'm not sure if that is possible, and I see my carts as useful to people with handhelds and no internet. However, the lichess api idea was a good one and so I'm grateful for his suggestion.

The only problem is that lichess rates it's puzzles by the ratings of people that play. So if a strong player screws up on a puzzle, it's rating goes up... It makes sense but the puzzle strengths don't seem consistent. I called 10 puzzles for each of the five difficulty settings, easiest to hardest. But honestly they all seem too easy. That is the good thing about getting puzzles from books, because those are designed to be tricky and are explicitly puzzles instead of real games.

I finally have move generation and so I think the interface is much more pleasant than any of my previous mate in 2 games. But I still really want some kind of animation when the pieces move.

My first game, I'm proud of this because i finally made something and didn't get stuck in Tutorial Purgatory. And also learned some things too. There's some things I'm not sure how to fix, but I'm honestly just glad i got it out.

Hi, Nice To Meet You! is a simple tamagotchi-like / virtual pet game. It's like a desktop buddy that keeps you company. He is hungry for attention, though, but just a little bit. Wait for it to wake up. Play, feed, and clean your little blue digipet to make it feel loved. :)

Made a little platformer. It's my first PICO-8 game anywhere near completion. It is SUPER easy to make your own maps using the map editor, and I'd love to see what some people come up with.

I also tried to use no (I cheated for collision) YT tutorials, and relied on my Python knowledge and the Discord help channel.

  • "ghost mushrooms" removal
  • an icon now clearly indicates who will get overtime

  • extra time comes in the end of the regular time and only for the player which has collected more bonus timer than his rival
  • characters are blocked only when they reach half the height of the sprite during collisions
  • basket points are now more visible and in a specific color for each player

I found that some cases support 7 keys, but normally they support only 5~6.
It's really annoying because some cases take 3 keys and cannot check an important key.
If you press Tab+S+E, the hardware doesn't check the Up key. This causes co-op to not work properly.
Please check this problem

Hi, this is a little lathe toy thing I'm working on. So far turning and facing works, and you can affect the finish
to do:
-fix collision between work piece and tool
-make things prettier
-add other materials (brass, wood, shawarma etc)
-add other tools
-make it into a game somehow

Why do we fall? So we may learn how to make soup

Froglegs is a small platformer inspired by games like "Jump King" and "Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy", fashioning 1-bit styled graphics, all made with PICO-8. Our frog friend is on a quest he didn't initially embark to take, but when life gives you wells to jump down into, you learn to make soup. Oh, and starchase too, yes, starchasing is important - "Why stars?", Why anything, brother?

Learn to jump, bounce and the second law of thermodynamics, all through merely two buttons: Z and X on keyboard and (O) and (X) on PICO-8/Mobile. One to go left, one to go right. Easy peasy, right? You can also go into the pause menu (Enter or P on PC) to switch the inputs to be further confused.

Snoot
