I'm stuck at the part after the sign with the big gap, is it just a big gap with no way to cross?

that sign isnt helping at all
it literally doesnt teach you anything so why tf is it a hint

yeah there is nothing past that gap and also it is a work in progress i made it for a school project but it was only supposed to be like a tech demo. Now i am considering making it an actual game, but it's my first ever pico 8 game and i also have never used lua so somethings will probably be off lol.
