My name is Leah and I am six. I really like playing Kirby with my dad and it gave me an idea of making a video game. I drew the character and the background. I made the music, I typed everything in the code editor and my dad told me what to type. I hope everyone likes my first video game.
It's Abe, Leah's dad, I spoke with her about adding walls and she wanted to keep them non solid to allow the player to pass through them as a surprise. She's spent around 7 months on this, she would ask me to work on it with her every other week and she would complete it little by little. She wanted her cart to show up in SPLORE so I walked her through posting it here.
Thanks for the tip about MGET() I'll definitely keep it in mind when she decides on starting her next game which she wants to make about planes.
I can already see it working with the gem pickups in this game, we designed our own hitbox and we went over the math involved in adding and subtracting the 8 pixels surrounding the position of each gem. So the collision detection would definitely help.
