Maybe call it something else? The original Celeste was not released as CC, and it's now a full game for Switch and Steam (and even includes the PICO-8 version inside it as an easter egg). Because of that, it might be good manners to not brand this as "Celeste 2"?
Yep. If you bring up SPLORE and select, "Featured." These games are golden and likely protected by copyright and /or its fans - mostly out of professional courtesy.
You are, however, welcome to write your own original carts - amaze us. We likely will be. :)
Still, think of it from this viewpoint, cymaster77.
Suppose someone took one of my key Pico-8 games or carts or books I wrote years ago and said they are making a 2nd version.
Did they consult the author ? No ? ... or yes ?
If no, I was not consulted and the changes included half if not more of my original work in theirs, I might be a little miffed, especially since I worked so hard at it and didn't expect anyone to jack with it later.
That's fine, you're just doing it for fun, making trickier levels. Sounds good.
We earlier had a long conversation about copyright and borrowing other peoples source code, even if just for fun or instead for professional use. Might be worth reading - found HERE:
