Edit: I wasn't thinking straight, nothing to see here.
Seems like on Windows 10 0.1.11g the capital Z glyph doesn't seem to be working. I just got a new laptop, switch from Apple back to a Windows PC so there is a possibility there's a keyboard mapping issue?
Up: ⬆️
Down:⬇️
Left:⬅️
Right:➡️
Z:▥
X:❎
Am I missing something? I tried searching the forums and didn't see anything.
When testing the glyph, it did not function as the input to btn(▥) but btn(4) still worked fine.
Use shift+o for the "o" button glyph.
Remember multiple buttons are mapped to each Pico 8 "o" and "X" key depending on controllers, players etc, which is why it is logical for it to be mapped to the o key. (Though I was confused by the exact same thing first time I tried it!)
Edit - I just reread your question - is it different for Mac? That would be strange.
Davbo's right.
There are multiple keys that can act as 🅾️ and ❎ (e.g. Z,X,C,V on a qwerty keyboard), and they vary by keyboard layout and by personal preference via keyconfig.
It's kind of a coincidence that the X key is also the ❎ button.
The shortcuts for typing the glyphs are supposed to represent the glyph, not the key. So it's X for ❎ and O for 🅾️, just like it's L,R,U,D for ⬅️,➡️,⬆️,⬇️ or H for ♥.
Wow, I must be very tired. You are absolutely right, looking back at this post I wonder what got a hold of me. Thanks everyone.
