A work in progress game I'm uploading for the sake of feedback. It's quite unfinished, and ends at the first planned boss (not actually implemented yet, sadly.)

Arrow Keys to move/jump
Z to use selected weapon
X to change selected weapon

I really love the almost atari style dungeon room jumping. I loved playing thru it and it definitly has room to expand. I love the mood and aesthetic the surroundings set. Cant wait to see what the end product will be. Keep working! this has potential!

@Skulhhead1924: Good eye! Those are definitely inspirations. I love Cave Story and Kero Blaster, and I'm pleased my game draws parallels to them!

This is sick! Really cool stuff. Love the sound effects, especially the "thud" sound when you land.

One minor thing: I kept on pressing Z/O instead of Up for jumping. That might just be the Mario Maker muscle memory, haha.

@nucleartide: I'm glad the sound effects fit! I have a difficult time with the audio side of Pico-8, so hearing that it works is nice. I agree that jumping being tied to the d-pad instead of a button can be confusing sometimes. It's times like these I wish Pico-8 had more buttons haha.

@PicoLate: Not at the moment, but if I can finish it in time and it's okay to enter it (I've never done a jam before...) I might! I just like the 64x64 style...chunky pixels remind me of the Gameboy/GBA :)
