Play this if you think normal mini-golf is just too normal!

This was created during #leetgamejam and polished up to what you see today. It contains 18 holes just as a normal mini-golf course. Share your score if you finish them all! As usual it plays best on the BBS.

  • Position your mouse then left click, drag and release to hit the ball
  • OR Position with the arrow keys then hold X, drag and release to hit the ball

(you do not have to grab and aim from the ball, just grab onto any position on the screen)

-Keyboard/controller support
-More sounds
-Made reset more visible
-Fixed ending and start explosion

-Center the mouse position better
-Made level 11 a little bit easier
-Made some new sprites

Always did like miniature golf. This game is a nice tribute to it.

I also like it a lot, a nice summer activity! Thanks! :)

Nice concept and pretty great execution!
However, I think this is made a bit unnecessarily harder by the fact that when aiming with the mouse the cursor is offset from it rather than centered, and the force is calculated from the cursor position rather than the mouse one (this also makes it slightly weird to click the reset button). I don't think that would be too hard to fix, though.

It could also probably use some music but at least the sound design is nice.

I just stumbled upon PICO-8 and found your post. I want to make a mini golf style game I have in my head too. I am pretty new to programming. You could call me a complete novice. I was learning web development but my true interest lies in game development. Would you say the PICO-8 is good for someone brand new to programming to learn from? And is a mini golf quite good for a beginner to try and make?

Thanks @Jusiv! Made it a little bit better with the offset! :) I am terrible with music, but if I can find anyone to make some music I will patch it in!

@cydo, Welcome to game development! I would say PICO-8 is pretty good to start with. I would recommend you to learn a more obective oriented language first like C# and use monogames to make games. To get a better ground in programing before going into a more script language!

For the game I would not say it is not the hardest to make. But as yout first I would say it is a little too difficult. Why not start with making a breakout clone first?

I just love it!
Breakout games tend to feel like game-programming exercise, but this one is really a fantastic concept.

This is really fun!

When playing with buttons, left arrow does not move the hand.
