This small Pico-8 tweetcart280 (278 chars in code editor without comments) is my homage/demake of Spike Dislike by Jayenkai. You can find the original one and lots of other games he has made here: agameaweek.com
Have fun!

I don't think you understand that this is a cart that has to fit into a 280-character tweet. Thus "tweetcart280".
It's impressive that it works at all. :)

YES. I love SpikeDislike. Can't wait to play this demake later today!
@Jayenkai Have you ever considered making a proper PICO-8 version of SpikeDislike?

@Felice. I know all too well the troubles of cramming it down. 280 chrs is insanely small. I recently attempted it in Amstrad CPC basic, and struggled to fit it into only 800, so this is amazingly impressive.
@eggnog. I’ve been focused on too many other challenges, of late. I'll look into Pico proper, some day. But not yet!

Sorry, I didn't notice you're the original's author. Your comment makes more sense as a joke now. :)

\o/yeay\o/ Flappadiddle!
Honestly, the number of compatible-ideas that I do, over at AGameAWeek, you guys could have an entire Jam based on them!!

That's true. The process you're using to force yourself to finish a game a week will inevitably limit the scope of each project to something that might be do-able (in a further-limited form) in a tweet.

This is getting off topic from SkyBerron's game, but briefly, I’m finding it's quite the opposite. The more I continue to do AGameAWeek, the more I’m finding myself capable of achieving in the space of just a week. Like I keep saying, practice might not make perfect, but it does make quicker ;)
Anyhoo, enough about me. Enjoy SkyBerron's games!!

@Jayenkai: I think "the secret behind AGameAWeek" is an interesting topic for this thread. Imho, what you do requires creativity, advanced programming skills and discipline. Practice might make you quicker but also less prone to get stuck on dead ends or time consuming bugs.
Btw, I'm just starting to understand why limits imposed by Pico-8 can help people like me focus on a small scope and get some simple games done. That said, I think I'm not going to hit the Pico-8 token limit for a long long time ;)

It has been really fun to make these tiny tweetcart280 games, but I feel my inspiration is running out.
So I thought it would be nice to demake/destroy a third game and complete a trilogy of AGameAWeek "ports" to Pico-8 Tweetcarts in 280 chars.
After meditating for a short time, I chose the last victim: "The Inbox Sheriff", another solid AGameAWeek game by Jayenkai.
Many thanks to Jayenkai for making all those awesome games!
I leave some links in case you want to dive into AGameAWeek world without getting lost:

I think I prefer that to the original. It’s much more logical ;)

Well! I didn't expect to wake up to THIS! :D
Welcome to the PICO-8 forum, Jay!

Thanks. Only visiting, right now.. too busy with other stuff. But I do now have an account, so it’s only a matter of time!
