Forgot the instructions: Move around with the arrow keys.
Anyways, the cart is finished, at least I have declared it so. It is not perfect, but it was a nice stretch into what PICO-8 could do.
I enjoyed making this, and I hope you do, too.

My first cartridge. I was trying to learn the basics of PICO-8 (I literally got it yesterday), and this is want I ended up with. It is nowhere near finished (ignore that 1 in the version). The heaviest inspirations seem to be FNAF and Yume Nikki.

Nice start. Hopefully you can add quite a bit more to a sequel, like having a set number of keys, but if you screw up and not use/match them up to the correct number of doors, then you can't continue further and end up losing the game.

I've actually started on some kind of sequel: Link
I'm probably going to remove keys, because they were more of a means to an end. My brother is helping me on the "sequel", so please check it out.

Nice little game my friend!

I'm working on my speed run strats!

It would be cool and easy to add a timer, see how fast you can complete the level/game. You could have it count seconds to keep track of time, or simply just increment a variable each game loop so we can see our final score/time.

Nice work.

I would love to do that, if that was the kind of game I was making. I really want a more exploratory feel to the game, so I think that adding a timer would make the player feel a rush toward the goal, but I there isn't a goal. It's point is simple exploration.

There are more than 4 rooms. Check the menu.
