and a programmable biobot v0.1 ...

are those items available to John to escape from prison.

He has only got 5 minutes ...

or his friend will no longer be waiting for him outside.

Will he make it?

Watch the cops. Some are following a path, some are not. Some will run after you, some won't.

PS: I'm not a Rambo fan but there are some aspects in Rambo 1 that were interesting.

Very impressive, it feels really fleshed out and complete. Took me a couple of minutes before I figured out how to escape from the first cell but after that everything was smooth sailing. I really like how many ways one could go about escaping and how creative you can get with the tools (especially the biobots).

Edit: Managed to cut it down to 2 mines, 2 doors and 2 cops.

Thanks! Yes, you're right, there are many possibilities. I started this game with just the inventory selection menu to try some different approaches (instead of going up/down or left/right in a list with additional keys). I had no idea where the game would go at that point - it grew while I was coding and testing. As a result, the code is inefficient (in terms of code re-use). The level could be bigger, and the artwork .... hides

I think I will do another one of this kind with a proper "engine" soon ... if an artist is willing to work with me, that would be awesome.

Oh wow, 2 mines, 2 doors and 2 cops ... have to try that! Maybe I should put in more cops then ;)

This is one of the most cohesive story games I've played. Great job! Does the police car always make you explode at the end? I tried programming a bio-bot to get in the way, but so far it just goes off the end of the screen. Also, I think the artwork is very cute and super-effective. The cops with their hats are particularly adorable.

Thank you! Hehe, nice idea with the biobot but the sequence is hardcoded :)
I got bored with level design so I decided to end the story right there. There's enough space left for 3 (or 7 if heavy title image removed) more levels, but ...
