A Simple arcade game that is developed in 5 hours for the global game jam 2022 where the theme is Duality. Get the highest score by collecting seeds but be careful as you need to plan your moves as touching different color make you lose health and collecting 3 seeds will heal you back.
How to Play:
- Same Color Tiles: You can walk over them with no problems
- Opposite Color Tiles: Lose health but make an explosion that erases all vertical and horizontal color tiles
- Seed: Give +1 score and every 3 seeds heal you and erase colors in the 3x3 grid around them when they appear
- Arrows: Move around
- X: Start the game and restart
I am =LOVING= this game, @amidos2006 !! Turn-based puzzle, gets you scratchin' your noggin' Random levels ensure a new and different game each time.
I have no suggestions except one. Allow the player to touch the goal irregardless if it is blank, blue, or red with no damage.
So for here the player can grab the target to the right with no damage.
Obviously paths to the goal or any alternate color paths are still hazardous.
Your game gets my gold star all the way and is ❤️Favorited !!
Thanks a lot, that is a great suggestion.
I am gonna test it in two ways:
1- seeds will always erase the tile underneath it when they appear on
2- seeds will protect you from damage
I think the 2nd one is better because it add a strategic layer of covering the next seed location with the current color so you can do a free erase.
I am so happy that you enjoyed the game :)
I see you made some changes, @amidos2006. Yep it's a bit easier without forcing a color on the target.
Managed to get a score of 34.
Suggestion to others, when playing always make sure you have at least one path of opposite color available to the next target. Even then it can still get quite challenging in higher levels.
Loving this brain teaser !
That is exciting, I was originally gonna pick the next location using more advanced AI than just random next such that it take in account multiple steps in future so it penalize the player for doing bad pathing (becz it is precomputed)
I just ended up not doing that becz I didn't have time but I might think about going back to that idea and implement it :)
Thanks a lot for testing the game and playing it :)
