This is a demake of Sega's first colorized vector scan arcade game Space Fury.
You must fight with alien commander's entire fleet. Occasionally attach weapons to increase your firepower.
Since I didn't like some designs of Space Fury the gameplay had been changed a bit :
You can always dock with weapons after the wave.
instead of the fixed screen the camera chases the player so you can always see the enemies ahead.
- enemy ships' merging point is displayed.
Pressing O in the title screen to switch the control type.
Classic is same as the original, and modern rotates the ship in time pilot style.
Anti-aliased vectors by elice and freds72.
Aww man, @hijongpark. I was hoping you'd make BARRIER. You mentioned it wouldn't be very difficult ? I'd choose that over Omega Race if it's a choice.
I could do Barrier here but it would be 2D sideways which I think takes away from the original 3D mystique of it. 3D and rotation completely elude me.
Personal note. I did not know it had sound when moving ! I must've seen an early release. All I remember is the deafening explosion when you run your triangle into the diamond. There were no other sounds.
Barrier ran on the Cinematronics hardware platform. It used a huge X-Y monitor that was almost entirely covered with a monitor bezel that only allowed the small triangular playfield to show through. Around 70 percent of the monitor's total area was hidden from the player. The monitor was too large for the cabinet, it actually poked out through a notch in the back door. The control panel featured a Start button and four directional buttons, even though this title would have been better with a 4-Way joystick. The sideart shows a picture of a blue wizard who has the playfield of the game as his body, and the same wizard is repeated on the monitor bezel that blocks out most of the screen. This game had a metal marquee that did not light up. The marquee graphics were also repeated directly below the control panel, just in case you didn't see them on top of the machine.
