well made I wish the menu was a little bit easier to use the menu and maybe fewer abilities but besides that, it is a great tech demo

If someone tries out a cart and can't figure it out (or even like it) within about 60-seconds of viewing, they often turn their back on it and try out someone else's cart.

Not saying that is absolutely happening here. Check out some of the existing tactical RPGs already written for Pico-8 with a high gold star value to see excellence in design, coding, and presentation.
