Soo... I bought a raspberry pi zero and I'm trying to get it to work so I can run and create pico 8 games on it. But every time I try to make it boot, it does this:
In short, it does nothing. Has anyone had this problem and maybe solved it? Thanks!
Oh, and we should have a name for pi's that run pico 8 games that we all use.
(I tried to load the raspberry logo into pico 8. it didn't work)
Hi there! We really need a diary if we are to help you. You say «it didn’t work» but we don’t know what you did, what you wanted to see, what you saw instead. So give some details:
- what is «get it to work»? booting the raspi at all, or running pico8 from raspi desktop, or booting straight to pico8?
- did you follow any tutorial about basic preparation for raspberry pi: power plug, screen, keyboard, network, SD card?
- what is «load logo into pico8»? do you mean importing a PNG logo into the spritesheet of a pico8 game? but how come you are trying that if booting doesn’t work?
The colors from the original logo are changed to PICO-8 palette, and it often doesn’t do what you want. I had to use the fill tool to make the leaves green and change the purple raspberry to bright red.
Sometimes it is easier to prepare files in another program such as Aseprite to get the right size and colors.
For your OS issue: does the SD card contents look fine from your regular computer? can you reformat and reinstall the card?
(I am on discord too, could be easier to have back and forth there)
Have you tried looking at the Resources page?
