The finished game:

It turned out pretty good for a first attempt at making a game with PICO-8 in my opinion. The gameplay itself is a little uninspired, but I had a lot of fun playing with the visuals and learning about the system.

Older versions:

-Fixed x-overflow/underflow bug
-Changed default palette
-Rough menus
-Generally more stylish

Still needs a lot of work, but it's turning out ok!

It freaks out then crashes if you walk in one direction for long enough. When the X overflows.

Oh, thanks for pointing out that bug! I guess I need to put in a manual wrap-around before it gets there.

Nifty. I like the perspective and bouncy physics. I like the music too.

If I had to nit pick anything it would be to have the guy be fixed further to the left rather than dead center. Makes it super tough to see the stars coming, good stars or bad stars.

also your version of 'pretty good for a first attempt' is sooooo far removed from mine lol. its great!

Really fun, challenging game! I included it in my Pico-8 Jam #2 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :)

I'm unable to search for this from within Splore. I heard about it through the above podcast. :)
