I like how this is going for an alien invasion theme, it kinda reminds me of those levels in Metal Slug where you ride a shuttle and you fight roaming aliens.

Looks like the explosion animation is off a bit - is it spawning at the sprite origin of the enemy (top-left)? Probably want x+(width/2),y+(height/2).

Good start! I think it would be better to write your own rapid fire instead of relying on btnp. Not only is the repeat rate fixed and latent on the first press, but it has the major drawback of being cancelled when any other button is pressed. It’s really weird that moving the ship stops your firing.
